Smurfs Going To Hollywood
Good news, smurf-lovers! Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation are bringing a live-action/animated Smurfs project to the big screen. It’s basically going to look like The Chipmunks and a little bit of Shrek. Columbia and Sony bought the film rights to the original Belgian comic book series upon which the TV show was based. Papa Smurf, Smurfette and the rest of the bunch will probably be battling the evil wizard Gargamel and his cat. Damn, I forgot the cat’s name. Will have to look that up later. So, if you were like me and woke up early every Saturday morning to watch these little blue creatures, then I guess you’d be a little excited about this news. Or you’re just hoping they don’t make the movie super cheesy. Either way, I can’t wait for the previews.
