Suicide Attempts Revealed In New Britney Book
Ian Halperin is an award-winning investigative reporter and he just penned a tell-all book about Britney Spears. Ian, who has also written biographies on Curt Cobain, Celine Dion and James Taylor, reveals in the new book that he knows about two of Britney’s attempted suicides since meeting the singer in 2006. Ian went undercover as a paparazzi for two years (2006-present) and got to interact with the singer. He told LIfe & Style Magazine that he had a chance to party with the pop star and witnessed her drug use firsthand. He told the magazine: “I saw a lot. I partied with her and was able to really monitor what type of stuff she was using. It’s very concerning.” Ian is reportedly shopping the completed book, tentatively titled Stalking Britney: Under Siege with Britney Spears, with publishers next week. I have a feeling he won’t have a hard time getting a publisher to put this book out. Yet another person who’ll be making money off of Britney.

Mr. Halperin appeared briefly last night on Fox News with Geraldo Riverra.
He didn’t get to say much and was drowned out when trying to say something positive about Britney.

If people would not sell her out then the paps would not know when she is flying out/in anywhere. Seems to me that we were told a while back that Mom/Dad would let the paps know. Seems it happened again if they knew when she was leaving LA and returning to L.A. To me she needs the reliable bodyguard around to keep her safe, the one that never sells her out.

Another site said it was a Delta agent that sold her out but who knows. Think of the magnitude of service people available to help keep the rabbit in site.
We see a service guy at Hyde shake K-Fed’s hand, “Been awhile.”
We see the same guy, spoken to by Sam, at Hyde, “Don’t forget about later,” and then some odd footage.
Chop suey. Gigi, I have lived in the L.A. area. There are good people there, but my own experience was true to, “Everyone wants something from you.” So many people are or were, “in the industry.”
So, between someone close selling her out, to service people… it’s reasonable to assume there may have been a service person at LAX who would know. I recently “saw” one of the Fonda men (celebs are not my deal – my spouse pointed him out) in security here in Phoenix, flying commercial.
I guess I am saying, let’s stop bashing the parents. Also, we haven’t seen any pregnant pictures of Brit lately — seems that all went out, once x got what they wanted. Remember the dog that seemed nice (helped with a subpoena) also bites.

MT has said several times that Dad Jamie calls the paps for photo ops. To me that is selling her out. If the book that mom is putting out talks about her then to me that is also selling her out.

Gigi, I figure I am doing well in trying to understand even half of what happens out there, and I probably only understand 1/8 or 1/16 or 1/32nd.
Twain was initially harsh toward papa. He then softened a little, and considered what the situation or motivation might be. At least he “considered” it.
I meanwhile doubt that Lynn would do anything to jeopardize seeing her grandchildren.
Kaplan said you don’t win (b.s.) by making the other person look bad (hrphffff) but by showing all of their positives.
Let’s stick together and try not to bash the family. Consider, yes, bash, no.
I can say Ian is no Adnan and if he was so close to Britney? Why didn’t he stop things? Because he couldn’t? Or maybe she was safer having some sort of “ally” with her, documenting everything.
I think back to some videos where certain paps were more protective and caring of Britney than some.
I’ve done a little homework on Ian. He’s not small fry but I am shocked any agent of his, would allow Geraldo to be the first on an interview circuit. Maybe he was repped by Leslie Sloane Zelnik. eep.
On the other hand, “damaging” rumors were already being built on the small leaks to the media before the interview. Maybe he had to act fast. Maybe he had good faith the interview would have gone better, and he could have helped Brit.
Maybe Ian knows someone who committed suicide in his own life … who the heck knows what his motivation was to include that in his book. I would understand trying to help others understand but … there is responsible and there is irresponsible.
I don’t know the black/white or polar thought here — I do know if you befriend someone and sell them out, you are trash.
I guess I ask to what degree someone is culpable and were they aware of it at the time. In other words, were they knowingly selfish or guilty of some lesser offense through inexperience or being duped by someone else.
By that same set of scales, I look at to what degree did someone befriend someone and give selflessly, that they could when called to action.

MT had experience and connections but he didn’t know everything, such as maybe Splash beat x to Costa Rica, or that there was at least one “professional” photographer?
It’s a laugh to ever think these days Britney has a vacation. Costa Rica was the swimsuit edition.
Britney is the Last Emperor. Many convoluted relationships and motivations within that movie.

Hey gigi? I think that somewhere along the line, despite professional experience, Mark came to love that girl.
She was so vivacious, fun, innocent even, unspoiled.
Mark has lived a life. He knows, as I do. As others do here. Wisdom comes at a cost.
I try to balance these ideas, when I think of Mark’s writing.

I think gigi is far out in some dreamland if she believe so. And why do you gigi, belive her bodyguard does it too? This is also a very odd train of thought.
Think they doing a excellent work. Would hire this guys anyday, if necessarily.

Its more likely that person working on a more far distans telling the media.

Its comming to the point that celebs dont even whant to be or stay in hospitals, even after giving birth, becuse of the web of information providers on the hospitals.
Would be nice to hear that private people, not working as papz at least dont taking down the ones who really care for Britney.

Also, this Ian *puke*, blame both Britneys family and specially her dad. But he, or almost no “journalist” have anything to say about Sam Lutfi´s horror regim.
I suppose it was easier to have Sam Lutfi to deal with then a person who place the foot in the ground and say Enough!

I guess I’m not saying the parents really sell her out but at the same time there have been photo ops there than someone set up or seems to have set up. I do agree that dad has done a wonderful job of getting her back on track. But then again if your doing or selling anything and that brings money in you have sold her out. Someone invited the camera in when she received all those t-shirts we see her wearing. Am I to believe that the camera man just happened to be in the warehouse with her? And who tipped them off that she was going to Costa Rica. Why not rent the plane in someone else name if that is how they found out.

Getting all this Ed Hardy things was a job. I´m very suprised anybody thougt that was nothing else then a PR job. Really surprised!
Going to Costa Rica was private, but don’t you think they have tried the “someone elses name”..?
Also, why must they hide, is the celebs not free citizens any longer?
I think we have nothing to learn Britney, her family or other celebs of all the dirty ways informations suddenly “slip away”, and if there is no information, then the rumors take over.
They write about Britney because they live of the money they get? The take picture of her for the same reason, OK?

MT explained there are “legitimate” photo ops and then there are more “natural” or less expected photos.
Here’s how I see Costa Rica. No vacation. Weren’t you suspect seeing Brit in makeup, not getting her hair wet, and posing for what looked like a very expensive camera in her “friend’s” hands?
Then there was the swimsuit. Ed Hardy.
The warehouse? Photo op. Brit gets free merchandise, Ed gets a wealth of publicity, from sunglasses, t-shirts, hats, and those swimsuits. x17 gets an exclusive — but then the excitement and money coming in stops.
All anyone has are pics of Brit at Ballys, and the kids at My Gym. btw, why does K-Fed need the kids out of the house so often. What’s he doing in his house that the kids can’t be exposed to?
No drama? No exclusives? We see created drama and ugly negative pictures of Britney. Is this the bite of the dog that help to subpoena Lutfi?
Was Britney really on vacation in Las Vegas? Hell no. Was adding to her recordings the real mission? Hell no. And why go to Vegas so publicly when K-Fed is there.
To promote Maloof’s new hotel? Brit was looking fabulous in a number of photos. Too fabulous. Glamorous. Mature.

I don’t think it’s just the money, Brit needs. If you think about it, her “outings” have been wholesome, and have played up the positives.
The crush at the airport was ugly. Not teamwork between a celeb and her handlers, not paps and an arranged photo op. If it was it went horribly awry.
Uli’s photos of Britney over Mother’s Day? Photo op and one we can be proud of. Teamwork. Consent.

I have respect for both of Brit’s parents. Maybe they erred in the past but when push came to shove they plucked their daughter from an ocean turned perilous. Lynne was a lioness, fierce.
You can bet her book will be her side of the story. A storm within the tabloids. If the book plays up Britney’s positives, and helps Britney, we can’t complain. I guess I have made my choice for hope and faith, rather than doom and pessimism.
Adnan told the conductor, the train lurched, Lutfi and gang “panicked” and moved the plan ahead. Meanwhile, Danny Haines and others picketed from the ground. They were outnumbered. Enter Jamie Spears.
The best story here is the one that hasn’t been told. The best story here is the one we are not seeing. I like that they have that amount of privacy and it’s possible through teamwork and commitment and faith to a higher purpose. Perhaps it is known as “grace.”

p.s. is Mel Gibson really just a family friend? I do think he is in a position to help her but suspect it’s an alliance of a sort otherwise.

Being seen with Britney has been good for Gibson’s image. Have they actually been captured in a photograph together though? If not, it’s an interesting detail and perhaps clue to maneuvering behind the scenes against the bad guys.

She is looking great no matter how you look at it. Most of the photos now seen look like she is in control. Its the ones like the airport that are horrible. No matter who told when and where she was headed that is the person that sold her out.

I agree but it wasn’t Daddy or anyone who loved her.
Someone close to her, someone who loved her, would never have subjected her to that chaos. It upset her. Our girl needs beauty in life. Adnan I think was the first beautiful thing she saw and was a part of in a long time.
Ama had a reasonable theory about leaks and K-Fed kept in the loop. Isn’t he just a grizzly scruffy no-good character? And who was that tramp at his house a few weeks back? X dubbed her sexy, I think she looked purchased for the afternoon.
Meanwhile, I again look at the level of culpability. Obviously someone who has Brit’s love is more heinous and culpable (of selling her out, the kind that hurts down to the psyche) than a Delta ticket counter person. (although I think that story was a decoy as to the true source of the leak so it couldn’t be traced back.)

We shall never know who it really was. It does seem she is moving about now and without being detected as much. No more info on when she leaves her house for court. I only see a few stories here and there now compared to November – January.

True gigi, but we can try to figure out the system so innocent people aren’t immediately blamed?
I don’t think it’s so bad for Brit when she knows it’s coming, but airport scene was a disaster.
Her peeps (the friendlier more decent paps) couldn’t even get to her. Must have been scary.
I still think her “I’m scared” was pre-emptive. It’s like telling my husband in a narrowing vertical tower in England, “I’m feeling claustrophic. Could you please take a step back?” Round I. Do you know what I mean?
Round II was going to be a little uglier but because I let him know, early, he was attuned.
Brit is a smart girl. I am worried though. I don’t mean to harp on that one body guard but it always seems worse when she is in his care. She has been escorted out by Maloof or Larry, or others and been more at ease. On guard yes, but feeling that someone will take care of her, or at least share in the experience to the car?

Wow. I don’t understand the first question of the interview, nor the answer.
I think if it was the psychological ADD the interviewer would have urged him to talk more about it. I am guessing instead it has to do with recording devices?
I have zero experience with bodyguards. Your words and experience help to rest a little easier.
I also have respect for your observations so I will let it rest. I believe if there was more amiss, you would notice and say it. Thanks for the insight into another world.

Girls, I have sunk to a new low. I purchased the Life & Style mag to see Halperin’s article for myself. I feel so … meanwhile, here are a few items of some interest.
Allegedly Ian followed Britney until May of this year.
“But even more dangerous (than drugs or suicide?), Halperin says, was the company Briney was keeping at the time — specifically Sam Lutfi.”
(Note: Halperin tried to bring this up last Sunday on Fox News but Geraldo talked over him wanting to talk about “suicide.”)
“The book is mainly about her handlers, how sleazy and destructive they are toward her,” he explains. “Sam and all those guys were really pulling strings behind he scene.”
I am not repeating the next part, but will quote what Halperin also supposedly said, “The people around her are like vulture,” he says. “All her family is behind this.”
(What? Is this out of context? I think it was. Hard to imagine Jamie Lynn, her boyfriend, and their child, as vultures.)
Britney herself is basically an innocent victim, according to Halperin — a trouble woman trying desperately to be a good mother to Sean 2, and Jayden, 1. “Ive seen her with her sons several times in the past year and a half, he says. “She’s actually a very caring mom.” And, he adds, “everyone close to the scene thinks she’s a much more fit parent than Kevin, who goes out more often and parties harder.”
(something else Geraldo muffled, skipped over. Meanwhile, I refuse to post anything the “inside source” says — oh Ama, I really don’t like the “insider.” Insidious allegations. Sounds like Sam.)
So that’s all, outside of the “insider’s remarks”, the article says. In to the trash, the magazine goes.
I don’t think we can judge Ian so fast but why talk to Life & Style? Why Geraldo? He ought to fire his agent publicist.
