Nevermind: Ed McMahon’s New Landlords

Update: It seems that Ed McMahon won’t be calling Donald Trump his landlord after all. A spokesman for the former “Tonight” Show sidekick told Associated Press that McMahon has agreed to a deal with a private buyer for his hilltop home – and it’s not the Donald. No word yet where Ed is moving to.

They don’t look like Mr. and Mrs. Roper, but I’m sure Ed McMahon doesn’t mind. In fact, he’s probably thanking his lucky stars they’re not. Billionaire real estate mogul and TV personality, Donald Trump, is in talks to purchase Ed McMahon’s old home to save it from foreclosure. Donald recently talked to L.A. Times about why he’s planning on buying the old Tonight Show sidekick’s house: “I don’t know the man, but I grew up watching him on TV,” Trump told the Times. “I’d watch him every night. How could this happen?” McMahon is about $644,000 behind on his loan for his Beverly Hills home. He injured his neck over a year and a half ago and he hasn’t been able to work. Although Trump has not finalized purchasing the property, Ed and his people think it will all work out. “There are discussions, but it is not a done deal yet. We are optimistic,” McMahon’s spokesman Howard Bragman told Reuters on Friday.
