I’m not a fan of Botox or airbrushing…I’d rather see the lines on a woman’s face than to see her looking perfect. (Okay, except maybe on my own! The lines I mean, not the perfection…Ah, I’m digging myself a deeper hole here…)

Anyways, it almost looked like they put too much make-up on her, or tried to cover up something in post-production…But did a really bad job. If I was Brit I’d ask for a re-shoot. She looks better than that on a trip to Bally’s, let alone a video seen by millions. (Or is it just me?!) I love me some Madge, but I do believe there’s something weird going on here!

Wonder if Madonna told the director, “Make her weirded out,” but the artistry doesn’t carry. It makes no point other than an unflattering (should I feel dumb now? No I refuse to read into it. It’s not a pretty picture of Britney) image of Britney.

Oops…When I say “strange,” I mean it somehow doesn’t look like her. Weird camera angle maybe? It sounds like the audience cheers when she sings, “Express yourself, don’t repress yourself…” and everyone realizes who they’re actually watching.

Ol’ Madge just kicked off her tour in the last week or so and has only played a few shows in Europe so far. I won’t be going to see her for a couple of months yet.

Human Nature looks pretty darn good. There’s a strange shot of Brit at the end, but she looks like the same old gal in the rest of the footage. I’m pretty pumped!

And Vogue doesn’t look half bad either…

Anecdote. This cake came to the U.S. pre world wars. Many have tried to bake it only to hear, “It’s not like my grandmother’s.” crap

In school, my first year away, I received this cake, made by father whose ability in the kitchen was Campbells soup, and steak and American fries. My mother dominated the kitchen.

The cake had been mailed. I was astonished. I too had tried to make the cake and heard, “It’s not like my grandmother’s.”

It is of German descent. It is dense. 2×2 inches is as much as you could eat at any sitting.

I made it some time ago and while Dad can’t tell me, I know I got it down. You make a pudding on the stove (I have a whisk now!) and use cake flour (no use sifting resifting ordinary flour).

Coffee would also be good but milk hits the spot.

ok but it would be my great grandmother’s cake and you’d have to drink milk with it. There’s no other way. It oddly tastes antique though fresh made. ‘natch it’s chocolate chocolate chocolate. Bittersweet.
