Four Tops Vocalist Levi Stubbs RIP

Levi Stubbs, lead vocalist of the legendary Motown group the Four Tops, died in his Detroit home Friday at the age of 72. Abdul “Duke” Fakir is now the last living member of the original group, which formed in 1954 as the Four Aims and signed with Motown in 1963. One of the most memorable groups on the label, the Tops sold over 50 million albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. If you’re a baby boomer, you grew up with their music. Even if you’re not, raise a toast to one of the most amazing voices ever and crank up “Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch.”
