Jessica Simpson has spent the last year blabbing about how “country” she is but the folks who put on the CMA awards don’t seem to think so. Word has it that Jess asked for a coveted performing slot on the show but the CMA honchos turned her down. So instead, Jessica spent “country’s biggest night” singing at the half-empty San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Arizona. At least she didn’t have to sit gritting her teeth while rival Carrie Underwood hosted the show in an array of glamorous gowns. What’s the next step in Jess’ “career”?
