How Angelina Manipulates The Media

The NY Times has a very interesting article about the lengths Angelina Jolie has gone to in order to remake her image from Bisexual Wild Thing to Mother Theresa. The Times reports that Jolie demands a guarantee of positive coverage—now and in the future—from the magazines she deals with. Jolie and Brad Pitt negotiated a deal with Peopler for photos of their newborn twins and an interview which reportedly gave the stars not only $14 million but control over how the couple was portrayed in the magazine. While the deal was probably worth it for People since the issue with their twins on the cover was the magazine’s best-seller in seven years, it does make you wonder how much of what you read in celebrity rags is bought and paid for.
