Hugh To Host Oscars

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this morning that “Australia” star Hugh Jackman will host the 81st annual Academy Awards on February 22, 2009. Most past Oscar hosts have been comics but Jackman does bring some experience to the job—he hosted Broadway’s Tony Awards 2003-2005. Jackman will certainly make the show more interesting to watch for the female moviegoers who drooled over him in “Australia.”
