Teens Flock To JoBros Film

We’re in a recession but you’d never know it from the way tickets are selling for “Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience.” The film doesn’t open until Thursday night at midnight but online ticket seller Fandango says dozens of show times are already sold out while MovieTickets claims more than 700 sold out performances.

Deadline Hollywood Daily reports that the movie is responsible for 63% of all online ticket sales today at Fandango and 52% at MovieTickets. Who’s buying all these tickets? A Fandango survey of Jonas ticket buyers revealed that 96% of respondents are female and
76% are 17 or younger.

That makes me want to check which nearby theater is showing the film and avoid it this weekend. The screaming is going to be unbearable. But hey, Disney’s gotta make money somehow.
