Judge Issues Restraining Order Against Adnan
The AP reports that following a brief hearing this morning, an L.A. judge has issued a restraining order against Britney Spears’ former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. The restraining order will remain in effect until midnight on March 17, 2012.
Ghalib (pictured here with Britney in Jan. 2008) is ordered not to have any physical, e-mail or phone contact with Britney Spears or her family and also to not to try to act on the singer’s behalf.
Earlier this year, Britney’s father Jamie Spears sought protection on his daughter’s behalf against Ghalib, as well as her former business manager Sam Lutfi, and attorney Jon Eardley, claiming the three were attempting to interfere with his conservatorship over her affairs.
Ghalib is currently facing felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, resulting from an incident involving injuries to a process server attempting to serve documents in the earlier restraining order case. Ghalib has pled not guilty to all charges.
Isn’t a three-year restraining order a bit drastic when no physical violence has taken place against the complaining party? There are battered women who can’t get anything except a short TRO against a man who tried to kill them. Why is this case different? Because of fame and money?

Nothing happy about this Wednesday! So heartbreaking.
I’m all for Britney and Adnan, but as much as it hurts to say this … I think it’s time to just turn around and walk away. Adnan’s gave it his all and he also gave up more than most guys would and I would love to see him go back to doing what he loves and living life to the fullest.
My opinion of course.

I swear I thought that the hearing today was for both Sam and Adnan. Maybe because they are almost always grouped together. OK! says it’ll be Sam’s turn on April 1. Isn’t that the same date for Eardley? Hi,KLM and Amethyst and all the rest.

I am not sure how credible this source is but I feel that things are really going to start falling apart for Britney following this restraining order.

I believe this will be the final straw for her. Unless, she bargained with Daddy to not push anymore legal issues against him if she went along with the restraining order…..or unless he once again used the kids against her….very sad….
Adnan, as the others said, it may be time to re-evaluate what the goal is here. Maybe try again at a later date. Sometimes there are just too many obstacles…..

Ronnie…..is there anything you can tell us without comprimising issues? Mr. Twain how about you?
Unless there is lots of evidence we are not hearing about, this had to have been the result of some sort of plea bargain for Adnan. With no evidence and him being represented by an attorney, there is no way this could have went over. So, either there IS damning evidence and we don’t know about it OR he agreed not to fight this in hopes that he would fare better in regards to the other charges against him.
How can other people not see that he is not gaining anything by being associated with Britney? I want to know how others see Adnan. I mean other people who have never been in a forum about him or Britney…..judges…..the majority of the general public.

Jamie Spears’ attorney told the judge that Ghalib hadn’t filed any objections to a protective order being issued. Neither Ghalib nor his attorney have appeared at previous hearings.

MissTeacher, that article is incorrect. It’s Sam Lutfi who had a TRO from last year that expired in July 2008. It wasn’t renewed by Jamie because Sam agreed that he wouldn’t attempt to contact Britney again. I do not know if that agreement was in writing or what.
I remember in January 2008 when Sam (or Sam and Britney) allowed a couple of paps (X17 paps, I believe) into Britney’s Summit home and he showed those guys a restraining order that he claimed that Britney had taken out against Adnan. That was a LIE. Most likely it was one of Sam’s old TRO’s that someone had gotten against him in the past. Sam has had at least 2 TRO’s taken against him by 2 other people. Sam’s a habitual liar and psychopath. That article named the wrong man.
For the record, this is Adnan’s 1st restraining order brought against him by Britney or on behalf of Britney via her dad/c-ship.

If I’m not mistaken, Adnan was still allowed to visit Britney at her home after she was released from the hospital following her 2nd 5150 hold. She was released after spending about 6 days at the UCLA Medical Center.
The last time that Adnan and Britney were photographed together was early March of last year. I want to say it was March 8. A weekend. After that, I never saw them together. And the last time I heard rumors of them still spending time together was also March ‘08. Towards the end of that month rumors started circulating that they had broken up.
Perhaps they did split. Or Britney’s father blocked him from visiting her. Personally, I believe it was the latter. Britney went on to film 2 guest appearances on a tv sitcom. She also began working on her next cd, Circus.
I can’t believe I remember all of that. Damn, I need to get out more. Sorry if I bored anyone with all that.

Small, I think that in this case it would be different because she is considered “incompetent” basically. Normally, that would be grounds to dismiss the restraining order. I don’t know how it would work in this case.

You know, I think something big happened here that we are not seeing or being told about. Something just seems fishy here….I mean moreso than usual. The death threat article and the restraining order being granted the same day pretty much and then Adnan never responding, appearing in court, or fighting the restraining order…..none of that sounds right.

Small, Kaplan just said that it doesn’t look good for someone facing a restraining order to hit a process server with his car. The court is not going to look favorably on that. He said that Britney is obviously better without Sam and Adnan in her life because look how great she is doing…..sounds like Jamie’s mouthpiece sounding off!

That she has served true copies of the TROs and Setting New Hearings to the persons I have stated.
She avers she did this in a document in a “sealed envelope or package” and that she placed the envelope following “our ordinary business practices.”
She says she is readily familiar with the practice of Luce, Forward, etc. “for collecting and processing correspondence for mailing.”
In short, you read it as you will but for me, she printed, licked envelopes and postage and sen, via U.S. Post, to the lawyers of Lutfi and Eardley, and then to Sam Ingham at 9440 Santa Monica Blvd. etc.
The secretary and processing by U.S. Post is proof of service?
This is the second time we have seen Sam Ingham, and no other outside attorneys for Lutfi and Eardley, serviced.

Hello everyone! I havent been on for a while because my computer has been playing up….It is SOOO slow and has been taking forever to get on to this site! So, poor Adnan. I HOPE, HOPE, HOPE that he is cleared from the prison/deport stuff. He must be feeling pretty bad right now but im sure he will have some friends though who will give him some support and be with him through this horrible time (apart from us!). Which brings me to Britney. I am really feeling for her right now, is she sad? Is she trapped? Who can help her if its true that she feels a prisoner??
Maybe she just floats from day to day without much thought (Too painful) Having experienced anxiety and bouts of agrophobia myself, (My experiences are mild in comparison to Brit) The frustrations and difficulties she must face against a sea of ‘people who know best’ only they most probably dont. Its a hard life to be vunerable, yet strong…..

I also would love to hear his side. I dont think he will say anything just like he hasn’t said anything in a year. He has protected her and also his feelings for her. I respect that even in the hard times he hasn’t said anything about her but yes I would love to hear the real story. I know some jumped ship but not me. Never me. I’m behind him 100%. Well….I do know if there is a restaining order against Adnan and Britney is caught contacting him then there would usually be a chance that the restraining order could be thrown out because she is not holding up her end of it. But, since she is under a c-ship…..I don’t know. I mean I am sure Jamie would say that she is mentally ill and doesn’t know what she is doing when she is texting Adnan…..but she does when she is making millions dancing on stage for him.

I really can’t believe that Jordan is being forced to close his site down.
That’s a shame.
If Jamie can take out a Britney fansite that’s extremely popular then he can do just about anything else he wants.
Do you think that maybe this is why we haven’t heard the rest of the Britney tapes?
One by one, like a domino effect,anybody who tries to step in and help Britney or reveal the truth about her father and what’s happening behind closed doors is being muzzled by Jamie and his slew of legal eagles.
The leading opponents of Jamie or supporters of Britney are dropping like flies. The only one I don’t feel any sympathy towards is Sam Lutfi. Breathe heavy,not so much Jordan himself, is what I’ll miss most. It’s a really sad thing to have happen.
I pray that Adnan will have great success and win his case or at least reach a plea bargain that’ll keep him from having to go to the Crow Bar Motel. I learned that expression from Rachel Maddow on MSNBC.
It sucks to just sit back and watch this all unfold. This is all incredibly sad. How could a person be so low?

One of the biggest Britney Spears fan sites has closed its doors after almost two years, blaming disillusionment with the pop princess for its demise.
WorldofBritney.com opened in October 2000 and claims to have received over five million visitors.
But for 19 year-old Swedish student Reuben Garay the site became a battle against “the suits” from record companies and a strain on his social life.
“I worked for two months sleeping only four to five hours per day to get the site up and running,” he explained, adding that the aim of the site was to offer the perfect vision of “how a Britney Spears community should be like. Not for Britney, but for fans like myself.”
But things have changed. In a posting on his site, Garay said: “Britney Spears is not the same person she used to be, at least that is the way I see it.
“Perhaps many of you agree, she’s just not the same girl that I once upon a time looked up to: the one that would be sweet, tender and would really care about her fans and show it openly.”
He complained that the pop diva no longer sees her fans as people but as dollars, and that “the whole business around her has made me sick. She’s a product now and well positioned with the highest authorities.”
Garay also claimed that he’d been under pressure from Britney’s backers.
“Having Jive Records US, Zomba Records UK and Paramount Pictures on your butt 24/7 trying to control your content is not a very nice thing, and especially when all I was trying to do was to create more attention for their artist,” he said. “Getting Word documents with half way filed lawsuits and threats is not funny.”
So, as of this week, the WorldofBritney site will no longer be updated. But Garay’s 5,000 word rant is still there for the viewing.

My first thoughts on reading that article:
a) Didn’t Ian Halperin say that the National Enquirer had some of the best reporting around?
b) That being said…Adnan, run for your life!! That is NOT a good example of rational thinking!! Put a lock on your zipper!! Buy a chastity belt if you have to!!
c) Now that that’s been done and we’re safe…Wow, the situation is really starting to unfold here. Who would’ve thought it would be a 20-year old punk who was able to get the biggest mofo out into the open? Is it just me, or was that a really DUMB move what just happened yesterday?

Oh wow! Now that is something that comes as NOOOOOO shock! They have been wanting a baby together for a long time. And Britney is right…..a baby is the only way she could be with Adnan. Getting pregnant would virtually end her comeback at this point….and therefore Jamie’s money train. JAMIE…..LET HER GO!!!!!!! Enough is enough already! Did you guys read the article about how Jamie Lynn is never coming back to Hollywood and she is going to just be a mom. This is what Britney wants!!!! No, she didn’t personally tell me that but if I had to bet money on something it would be that if Britney could tell the truth about her desires, this is what she would say. I feel so bad for her right now. I pray that she gets free from this conservatorship and that Jamie pays for what he is doing to her. All of this is just obsurd and why the hell is the mass media outlets afraid to touch this story? They need to start asking questions!

Four questions…
1/ What about Sean P. and JJ?? She doesn’t even have any custody rights over them (only visitation…and possibly still monitored at that!) And now she wants ANOTHER baby??
2/ If that article is true, does Britney’s thinking patterns about all of this not reinforce more than ever that she is not yet fully well when it comes to her mental health? That she truly DOES still need to be under conservatorship? (Obviously not with Jamie at the helm, as she does NOT trust him…) And that she is not thinking about Adnan’s well-being whatsoever, and is willing to put him in harm’s way in order to release herself from a situation that she put herself in to begin with?

I ask, who was the first to report about the gold “uniform” and the xmas comments? Fans at BH. Does any other site have the capability and technological sophistication as BH fans?
To me the site was a voice for anything Britney including those bloopers. Did the brand really believe that we would believe Briteny’s brain was thinking of (oops don’t know what city I am in but I have to say something!) Christmas while singing “Why don’t you do something?”
Notice an upsurge of Britney’s past-without-her-father media this weekend after the announcement of Jamie shutting down Jordan’s site?
Negative BHers are funnny. As if any site could duplicate or replace BH at this time, or duplicate Jordan’s voice.

I got tired of “lurking” and decided to actually log-in and say hello. And make a long remark too.
Slow day all around it seems like.
Not a whole lot to do today that I didn’t to yesterday.
I flipped through Lynne’s book(AGAIN)today. Basically, I was searching for more info on Jamie “I will destroy your ass” Spears.
I couldn’t find much current info about him besides him being The Conservator. (If you say The Conservator using the voice of a super hero it kind of sounds funny.)
I did discover a couple of things that I guess I’d overlooked. Honestly, when I bought that book I started reading from Chapter 27 until the last chapter. Then I skimmed the front and looked at the family photos.
A lot has changed in the lives of the various members of the Spears family.
When Lynne wrapped up her book you’re left feeling like you’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster ride along with them all. So weird how you feel like you know who people are and then you realize that you have no idea as to who you think you’ve known throughout the years.
There’s a summary, well more of a look back, at the lives of her three children. When Lynne looks back at the life that her children have lived so far, it’s like…
The way I interpreted what was written is like for Bryan and Jamie Lynn she could have wrapped it up by writing ‘to be continued’.
Because that’s how it is for them and all of us. Right? Yeah.
Yet with Britney. It’s so odd. I think I just feel this way mainly because Britney’s the better known of the three and there’s complications and drama that still exists in her life. So it seems.
However, with Lynne’s reflection and hopes for her I felt like not only could Lynne have written ‘to be continued’ for her as well but that phrase would be closely followed by a question mark.
I feel a sense of uncertainty for Britney and her current situation. It isn’t a dark uncertainty. It’s just one of those, “Umm, I still don’t know about that.” Do you understand what I’m trying to say?
No one can even begin to try to predict what could be in store for her,me,or you.
That’s just how life is.
In my eyes, Britney’s portrait isn’t close to being completed. Or like the artist will have to start over again using a fresh canvas,paint,etc.
I think she needs more space to grow and self reliance and better direction to where she wants and needs to go. Faith and confidence too.
See, I’m getting all introspective on a life that isn’t even mine. Which probably is stemming from boredom which is what led me back to that damn Lynne Spears book. I’m gonna have to throw that thing out one of these days.

I read the book as you did, but I did it with a purpose: to find out what Lynne had to say about Adnan and Lutfi.
I think Lynne lost Britney and was/is bitter, hence no … to be continued, but Lynne was/is the silly fool.

Fantasy, it was long but very insightful. Britney is in limbo at the moment. I am at that point of not knowing what to think about her. I do support her, but I sometimes wonder exactly what I am supporting.
I didn’t buy Lynne’s book. I made a point not to. Lynne lost her daughter along time ago. She seems more like a friend to Britney. I know, not true, it’s just what it seems like to me.

I meant to post this last night, but forgot, about the NE and pregnancy story, is it possible that instead of thinking Britney is “crazy”, it is quite possible she feels that desperate to get out of Jamie’s control that that is the only way she can think of to be free or see Adnan? Is it her being “crazy”, which is what I think Jamie wants us to think, or is it her being completely desperate? Just something to ponder. That is if it’s true at all

…But if that’s the case, why isn’t her court appointed counsel doing anything? There’s so many things wrong with this situation on ALL sides that it’s hard to know where to start.
P.S. Anyone see the gay porn of Jordan that was supposedly posted on page 6 of the most recent (Twitter) thread on BH? Someone posted at X that it was there. I checked, and it had been removed, but the other posters at BH were complaining about it.
