Zac Efron and the fans of “High School Musical” think Vanessa Hudgens is a beauty, but now it’s official.

ET reveals that Vanessa has won the lead in a modern-day take on “Beauty and the Beast,” untitled “Beastly.” The film tells the story of a spoiled rich kid who is turned into a grotesque monster after ditching a date. He must then find a kind-hearted lovely to break the spell. 

The movie films this summer. After Zac’s latest film did so well, can his lady be the next alum of “HSM” to break out big?
