Rich Rockers Hit By Economic Woes

Some of Britain’s wealthiest music makers aren’t as rich as they used to be.

Reuters reports Paul McCartney, Elton John and Mick Jagger are among the celebs who’ve seen their personal fortunes shrink in the last year. A survey in the London Sunday Times claims Elton John’s personal wealth has been cut by more than a quarter to 175 million pounds from 235 million pounds ($342.3 million), mostly due to erosion of investments and large donations to charity.

Paul McCartney saw his fortune decline 12 percent, while Mick Jagger’s dropped 16 percent. Yeah, they’re all still rich, but it just proves the recession affects all of us.
