“Young Hollywood Burgler” Strikes Again

Orlando Bloom is the latest victim of the crime wave that has been striking young celebs.

Paris Hilton and Rachel Bilson have lost jewelry, clothes and other personal items worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, while Lindsay Lohan was lucky enough to have thieves make a run for it without breaking in. This morning, the LAPD was called to the home of Orlando Bloom to investigate a robbery, following a tip from neighbors. TMZ reports the crooks made off with over  $500,000 in jewelry, including two very expensive watches. The actor had been out of town, but returned to his home today.

These robberies just seem too much alike not to be related. All involve young, wealthy, famous people who kept large amounts of valuable property in their homes, and were conveniently away at the time of the heists. Could the thieves be acquaintances who used an opportunity, like a large party or reception, to case the joints? I know if I was a well-known person with a nice collection of bling, I’d stash it all in a safety deposit box before I left town.
