DJ AM’s Death Ruled Accidental

The toxicology report for Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, has been released and showed that the 36-year-old died from an accidental overdose. The AP reports drugs found in his system included cocaine, OxyContin, Hydrocodone or Vicodin, anti-anxiety drugs Xanax and Ativan, Klonopin, Benadryl, and Levamisole.

When the DJ’s body was found in his SoHo apartment on August 28, a crack pipe and numerous prescription bottles were discovered on the premises. Goldstein had overcome childhood obesity and drug addiction, and had a decade of sobriety under his belt before being badly burned in a 2008 plane crash.

Did the pain and anti-anxiety meds he was given after the accident push DJ AM back into drug abuse? His friends will be left to wonder, but at least they have the small comfort that his tragic death was an accident rather than suicide.
