Lady Gaga To Tour Solo – So Long, Kanye!

Who needs Kanye West? Nobody I can think of, but especially not Lady Gaga, who seems to have kicked Mr. Ego to the curb.

Yesterday, Live Nation announced that the “Fame Kills” tour starring Lady Gaga and Kanye West was abruptly cancelled. Rumor has it that sales were terrible, even compared to other tours in this year of recession. But don’t expect Lady Gaga to spend the next few months lounging around the house. At today’s Billboard Women in Music Event, the pop star revealed she will be touring after all—minus West. “It was a mutual decision. Kanye’s going to take some time off. But the good news is that I’m going on tour in a few weeks.”

While the Lady remains discreet, her choreographer Lori Ann Gibson Twittered that “creative differences” between Gaga and West led to the demise of the joint tour. That’s usually polite talk for “they hate each other’s guts.” No doubt Lady Gaga will do just fine without West and his drama—especially if Taylor Swift’s fans come out to support her.
