“GMA” Says No To Lambert, Yes To Brown

8-5-09CB

When ABC’s “Good Morning America” axed an appearance by openly gay singer Adam Lambert because of his controversial performance on the American Music Awards, the producers tried to make it look like they were protecting innocent children from seeing something so shocking. But now Page Six has revealed the show is OK with booking a convicted felon—crooner Chris Brown. The Rihanna-beater is set to do an interview with Robin Roberts and perform songs from his new album.

So ABC is more comfortable with a man who beats the crap out of a woman than another who kissed a man? An ABC source lamented. “The network is giving a mixed message—that it doesn’t trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault.” Yeah, that’s a great message to send—being a violent abuser is better than being gay.
