Tom Switches PR —Again

Tom Cruise’s career has been declining for the last several years, and he seems to be taking his frustration out on his PR reps. For 14 years, back when he was an invincible superstar, Cruise was a client of Pat Kingsley at PMK, who carefully orchestrated his image. Rumor has it the two split when Kingsley tried to make Cruise downplay his devotion to the Church of Scientology.
The actor’s sister Lee Anne DeVette took over for a few months in 2005, but was replaced following the infamous couch-jumping debacle that made Cruise a laughingstock. He then signed on with Paul Bloch of Rogers & Cowan—a publicist and an agency that are both way past their prime.
Today Deadline Hollywood reported that Cruise has jumped ship again—this time to Amanda Lundberg at 42 West. She has her work cut out for her, because at this point, it would take a miracle worker to repair Cruise’s batted image and faltering career.

Nicole Denies Eating Disorder

Nicole Richie looks very healthy and happy these days, but it wasn’t that long ago the mom-of-two was scary skinny and battling drug problems. There were rumors at the time that Nicole was suffering from anorexia or bulimia, but nothing was ever confirmed. In March’s U.K. edition of Marie Claire, she seems to be denying ever having any such problems.
“I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t. It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible. An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease. I don’t think you can lightly say someone has a disease unless they are openly telling you that they do.” That’s not quite an outright denial, but for now Nicole has her life under control, so good for her!

No Topless Scenes For Dakota

“The Runaways” is getting a lot of attention for its girl-on-girl kiss by stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, but if the director had her way, the film would be even raunchier than it is! Floria Sigismondi revealed to the L.A. Times that she was restricted in some scenes because at 16, Fanning is still considered a minor.
“If I used an 18-year-old, I could’ve maybe had her topless … just to give it a little more reality.” She also faced challenges in filming the girls’ passionate kiss. “The challenging part was all the rules. One person can be on the bed; the other person can’t.” The film is rated R—which means Dakota isn’t old enough to see it in theaters!
