Tom Switches PR —Again

Tom Cruise’s career has been declining for the last several years, and he seems to be taking his frustration out on his PR reps. For 14 years, back when he was an invincible superstar, Cruise was a client of Pat Kingsley at PMK, who carefully orchestrated his image. Rumor has it the two split when Kingsley tried to make Cruise downplay his devotion to the Church of Scientology.

The actor’s sister Lee Anne DeVette took over for a few months in 2005, but was replaced following the infamous couch-jumping debacle that made Cruise a laughingstock. He then signed on with Paul Bloch of Rogers & Cowan—a publicist and an agency that are both way past their prime.

Today Deadline Hollywood reported that Cruise has jumped ship again—this time to Amanda Lundberg at 42 West. She has her work cut out for her, because at this point, it would take a miracle worker to repair Cruise’s batted image and faltering career.
