Brit Gets Allowance, Too

Brit Gets Allowance, Too

Who knew Britney still got an allowance? I don’t think even she knew this. Well, a judge ruled today that Jamie Spears, acting as Brit’s conservator, can give her a $1,500/week allowance. Well, it doesn’t have to be an allowance - she’s just going to get a budget to work with. I don’t think Brit’s hurting for money, but putting a limit on her spending is definitely going to help her out in the long run. I know Brit’s been known to have very big shopping sprees, but she’s not against saving a little cash. Hello, she went shopping for shoes at Off Broadway just a few days ago. She knows where to get her deals. Anyway, since Brit’s been spending more time at home, maybe the allowance is just the right amount. I’m sure all of you have your take on this.

can somebody explain me why some people using temporary conservatorship and of another time permanent conservatorship !? :O

  2. Rehema Says:

Kevin should put himself under an allowance, too. $20,000 on jewerly? Is this what he will teach Sean and Jayden? To shop until you drop when you ain’t got it like that?

Josieane, a permanent conservatorship would be for Jamie to have a stable source of income as long as Britney is alive. He will have to work if the temporary conservatorship ends, he does not want it to end.

One difference in the temporary vs permanent conservatorship is that he could sign legal contracts for her if he needed to. With the temporary status I dont think he could sign long term agreements. It could have something to do with her career or leasing another house. I have seen where they have been looking at houses somewhere.

  4. josieane Says:

thank you for your answer :-)

But if Jamie obtain the permanent , that wants to say, that his life will be manage by Jamie!!! for ever … I hope that Britney will do something about that , sound crazy to me

There is a lot of sheer nonsense and misinformation out there regarding James Spears’ conservatorship, and why he is in the position he is.

Mr Spears is at the moment, as much a ‘prisoner’ of Britney’s illness as is she (of whatever it may be that she suffers from. Temporary or not).

Mr Spears life is ‘on hold.’ He cannot work because he must live at Britney’s home, be there for her children’s visits, conduct all of her affairs, oversee court cases, and a thousand other tasks that come with the role of conservator.

Mr Spears does NOT want to be in his present conservator position ad infinitum. He wants his life back - as much as Britney desires hers. He has made this abundantly clear, and more than once.

Mr Spears has to have some income, and he has to have the means to take care of Britney and her affairs. This is not easy, and it will have cost him a great deal - in financial terms as well as mental and emotional.

It is supremely difficult to take care of a person who is suffering any form of mental illness. I further empathize with Mr Spears as I am in a very similar position, and for a person who is far more wealthy than am I.

I too have my life ‘on hold’ at the moment, in a location far from my own home and facing an uncertain outcome. It is emotionally and mentally exhausting, expensive, often frustrating and extremely stressful.

Whether a temporary condition or permanent, taking responsibility for the affairs and financial welfare of a person who has a mental illness is no sinecure. It is one of the most onerous and difficult tasks anyone could possibly undertake, particularly if this is for a child one loves, and one moreover who may be resistive to necessary help.

Mr Spears is to be commended. He is doing a wonderful job in ridiculously difficult circumstances while under the eye (predominantly critical at that) of the world.

He deserves nothing but praise and support. It would be a refreshing change if those who are quick to judge could perhaps, step back and recognize that Mr Spears has put in place some truly phenomenal changes for the better in the way Britney lives her life, for her career and her relationship with her sons.

Not only that, he has accepted and even welcomed Adnan as a positive influence in Britney’s life.

Mr Spears has also exercised considerable diplomacy with K. Federline, has held to his honor in questioning KF’s rapacious and borderline-crooked lawyer’s financial expectations, and similarly questioned the accounts of Britney’s equally borderline-crooked ex-lawyers.

He is an amazing man who has gone through torments himself, recovered from and dealt with his personal ‘demons’ successfully, and also very successfully, changed careers mid-life.

He is a good and sincere man with deep feelings and sensitivities for others. Perhaps if his appearance was less ‘rugged’ - or more ‘classically attractive’ - a more positive attitude may have developed toward him. Sadly, it would seem that this may be the case.

His dour and mostly unsmiling appearance totally belies the kind, caring, dignified and honorable gentleman he most definitely is!

I for one, am most assuredly ON “Team James Spears!”

That’s a good one Evel! Thanks for the clarification!

  7. josieane Says:

Thank you very much Evel, for this explaination and I send to you full of positive thought for your own !!! wish you good luck :-)

Well said, Evel! Another wonderful post! I hereby nominate you for the Team Adnan t-shirt– not only for the informative, thoughtful content, but for the style in which your posts are written. I must say, I love your prose! Both the sober and the inebriated variety.

Come on, JFX.! You know you’ll never read prose like Evel’s on other blogs’ comments. This is quality! So, when will you announce the winner(s) of the t-shirt contest? I hope you can get at least 2 shirts. Mark Twain and Evel have both done some wonderful posts. They have my votes for the t-shirt contest.

Evel, in a previous thread you wrote: I’m in Australia at the moment. The last stages of a rather harrowing series of tasks, hence the libations. The end is in sight and a vacation on the horizon.

When I read the word ‘harrowing,’ I imagined that you were in Australia photographing man-eating sharks in the Great Barrier Reef, perhaps producing a documentary on the same subject. One minute, you are photographing a beast of a shark and the next minute, you are chum. Harrowing. I also imagined that perhaps you are an international secret agent (thus explaining the many passports and globe trotting) on a life threatening mission in Australia. Secret agent by night and English literature professor by day (thus explaining your vocabulary and prose). Now, I see that you are dealing with a situation all together different, very similar to what Jamie Spears is dealing with, which is just a harrowing but in a different way. I commend you for helping in a difficult situation. Thank you for helping bring understanding by voicing what life is like from the conservator’s perspective. I too think Jamie Spears has done a wonderful job. He clearly cares for Britney. I never for one minute thought he was doing it to get his hands on her money. I find it hard to believe that other people think that. His face is not the stereotypical image of beauty, but beautiful nonetheless because it shows a father’s love, concern, and suffering for his daughter. It can’t be easy. My heart goes out to him.

Evel, hope you enjoy your well earned vacation! May your lugubrious visage become tanned and mirthful!

  10. Evel Says:

Well, thank you for compliments and support. Bows and flourishes while waving metaphorical Musketeer’s chapeau (albeit with emu feather). :D
Annabelle, your post generated a huge laugh. Thank you for that. No, to English Professor, and no to ‘international secret agent.’ LMAO because am most definitely built for comfort not speed or agility.

I am however, a writer. Usually about obscure and totally uninteresting subjects like agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals, and the effects of same upon human physiology. (~yyyawnnnns~) Travel is part of the job.

I was born in a country otherwise than that in which I grew up. I then married a person from a third country, which gave me the third passport. All very fortuitous for the employment I fell into by virtue of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. ;)

My partner works in the media/entertainment business, as do several ‘peripatetic’ friends who also travel widely.

I have become very impressed by Britney Spears because of her courage in quite desperate circumstances, and for many other reasons.

An obvious Adnan supporter, also for many reasons but additionally as a fellow ‘Brummie.’ Some areas of Birmingham can be a difficult environment in which to live but do inculcate dignity, perseverance and a positive talent for surviving a few bruises. :D

  11. Evel Says:

Adding this, and are you clairvoyant Annabelle? ;)

I AM about to vacation, to ‘go fishing’ in fact. And off the coast near Shark Bay (which is to the north in West Australia).

I hasten to add though, NOT for sharks! :D

  12. Rehema Says:

I can’t help but think sometimes that Adnan’s ship is sinking! There is no way this conservatorship is in his best interests. He will never marry Britney because a permanent conservatorship (it’s eminent) will not permit that. He will need legal protection too somehow. I mean there he is dating a famous person and he’s middle eastern (a lot of hate towards him): he will need hired protection (bodyguards). His income is not designed to afford hiring bodyguards like Britney’s. He might have “other rods in the fire” but he can not be making it big like he was papin’. If other rods in the fire were paying well; why did he pap? I believe it was because papin’ pays more. Knowing how crazy people are out there, he will soon get death threats like Britney. I don’t know how he can take pictures of regular people (he is not a high-end photographer) with bodyguards in tow, that looks weird.

  13. Ari Says:

Rehema, people who are under a conservatorship, whether it is permenant (which is a crock that basically means one year and then must be renewed and reviewed)still have the right to marry whomever they choose. Besides that, before a permanent conservatorship is established, she’s entitled to a trial, including a trial by jury, to determine if that is appropriate. If the conservatorship is established, she can at any time come in and petition to terminate. Just because it says “permanent” doesn’t mean that it is!

  14. Evel Says:

There is no way the conservatorship will remain permanent.

When Britney’s life and health are stable and there is effective business and personal management in place, the conservatorship will no longer be necessary.

The present situation is the result of crisis, which is being and will be resolved.

  15. Annabelle Says:

Evel, thanks for the explanations. I believe the part about you being a writer. However, I doubt your denials about being an international secret agent. A true secret agent would of course lie about being a secret agent. You can’t fool me that easily! I’m clairvoyant, you know (wink).

Hmmm… chemicals and their effects on the human body. So, you write horror stories? I kid. I kid! I can’t help but think that the increases we’ve seen in certain diseases, learning disabilities, and even mental illnesses are caused by all the synthetic chemicals that pervade modern society. I consider that very serious and important work, Evel. No need to disparage it.

I have a young relative diagnosed with bipolar disorder as a young child, and can sympathize with what Britney and her family is going through. Which medications and what dosages to use to treat his bp disorder were chosen by trial and error because there is no one set of meds and doses that works for everyone, and the fact that he’s young complicated matters. It seemed to be a sort of tightrope they walked between control of the symptoms and the negative side effects. I’ve seen his family struggle with this. How much harder the struggle must be when the person involved is not a child any more, as in Britney’s case. I am not normally one to comment or join blogs, but Britney’s struggles have moved me, and this site seems to be the most supportive one I’ve encountered.

Team Britney all the way! My clairvoyance tells me that she will get better, enjoy the company of her kids and family again, and find happiness and stability in her life. This is my wish for her. The recent positive steps with Britney make me very hopeful.
