Britney Meets The Mother
Word on the street is that Britney Spears is currently filming How I Met Your Mother. Brit’s going to be guest starring as a receptionist and the episode is set to air on March 24, so mark your calendars. Today’s a special day for Ms. Brit. First, her new video is debuting tonight online and now she’s in the midst of filming for the CBS series. This is definitely the type of news Brit fans love to hear. Okay, news like this and whatever’s going on in her love life. I’m happy Brit’s doing very well and I’m sure I’m not alone in this sentiment.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this turn of events. Ms. Spears has been working since she was a young child. So much of her core identity has been tied to her stage persona. It seems to me, it might be more beneficial for Ms. Spears to focus exclusively on her health and put career aspirations on hold, indefinitely.

I don’t see Britney having a small part in sitcom as a negative at all. In fact, I see it as beneficial to her. There are only so many hours in the day that you can “focus on your health.” My take on this is that Britney could get out of the house with funny people and enjoy herself while doing something fun and productive. I think it would be great fun, take her mind of her troubles for a little while, and would give a boost to her self esteem.
Since she will be playing a different character than herself or her stage persona, this role would allow her to step outside of her regular life for a while. I see it as a wonderful step for Britney. I can’t wait to see the show. I’m rooting for her.
