Friday, January 16th, 2009

The inaugural planners tried to keep it under wraps until the last minute, but Beyoncé has revealed the song she will sing for Michelle and Barack Obama during their official first dance  at the Neighborhood Ball in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday night. Beyoncé will sing the Etta James R&B classic “At Last.” The singer portrays James in the film “Cadillac Records.”

She told Entertainment Tonight, ”I am so honored that I will be pe rforming for President Obama and the first lady. I could not be more honored and excited that they have asked me to be part of this moment in history.”

Beyoncé added, ”To sing ‘At Last’ while they have their first dance is a dream come true.”

Candle Blowers

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Unfortunately, yours truly needs a really relaxing day off, but I can’t forget to wish everyone whose birthday it is today a big, fat happy birthday. Adnan’s been a great friend to JFX Images and JFX Online and we really appreciate him. Happy birthday, dude. And Kathy Griffin – well, she’s freakin’ hilarious. Get used to her. Other folks celebrating their birthdays (sorry, y’all, you’ll have to click on the links…I just got my nails done).

Hey B, Where’s J?

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Unlike Tom Cruise who visits Katie Holmes when she’s filming a new movie, Jay-Z is not that type of dude. I can’t imagine the rapper/entrepreneur camping out in his new wife’s trailer, hanging out and waiting for her to finish. I just can’t. Nonetheless, I’m sure his royal def-ness is just within a phone call away if Beyonce ever needed some sweet words from her honey. Our photogs were at the Altadena, CA set of Beyonce’s new movie, Obsessed, yesterday, when they caught a glimpse of the actress. Yes, you’ll have to do a ‘Where’s Waldo’ thing with the picture below, but you’ll find her. What’s the movie about, you might be wondering? Well, it’s about a successful professional man (played by cutie Idris Elba) with a beautiful wife (Beyonce) who finds his idyllic life threatened by a temp (Ali Larter) in his office who reveals herself as a stalker. B’s also one of the movie’s producer, besides being the main attraction. This is definitely not original material, but we’ve never seen Beyonce in a thriller, so that may be a selling point. The movie is set to release in February 2009.

Yep, They’re Married

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

After much speculation, Us Magazine is reporting that Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles are officially married. Geez, did they have to go through all that trouble to hide the fact that they’re married? I guess it did fuel a lot of press, so in that sense it worked. The couple applied for their marriage license in Scarsdale, NY on April 1 and tied the knot on April 4. The Scarsdale office received their signed marriage license last Friday. So there you go, it’s official. I’m sort of sappy, so I’m totally happy to hear that Jay and B are really married. Congratulations (again) to the couple.

PETA’s Wedding Gift To Beyonce

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Although they’ve kept mum about it and have yet to confirm their marriage, PETA still decided to send Beyonce and Jay-Z a wedding gift. Beyonce, who has donned a fur coat or two, wasn’t exactly one of PETA’s favorite celebs in the past. In 2006 the animal rights organization “ambushed” Beyonce by showing her a DVD of animals being slaughtered during a dinner they secretly bid on and won on an eBay auction. I guess PETA has been keeping an eye out on B lately and found that the singer did not wear fur this past winter. How they kept an eye on her all winter long still fascinates me. Anyway, PETA sent Beyonce and Jay-Z a throw blanket from the ultra-luxe faux fur maker Fabulous Furs and a very nice congratulatory note. I don’t think PETA should wait for a thank you note.
