Britney Kicks Off The Christmas Season In L.A.

Britney Spears was the not-so-surprise celebrity guest for last night’s tree lighting ceremony at the Nokia Theater in downtown L.A. On hand to share the evening wiht her were her sons Jayden and Preston and dad Jamie. Other celebs attending included comic Adam Carolla and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Last night marked the launch of the brand new (so new it’s not finished yet) L.A. Live! with the premiere performance of Light of the Angels at the Nokia Theater. Here’s hoping this is the start to a very happy holiday for Britney and her family.
Britney Lights Another Tree Tonight

Britney Spears’ whirlwind week of promotion for her new album “Circus” has already had her appearing at the annual tree-lighting ceremony in Rockefeller Center in NYC and now she’s back in L.A. and all set to light one more tree. NBC is reporting that Brit will join L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, USC football coach Pete Carroll and singer Natalie Cole at 7 p.m. tonight for the tree-lighting ceremony at the still-unfinished LA Live entertainment complex downtown. Hope she brings the boys—kids can’t get enough Christmas!
Britney’s Ex In Jail

No, not K-Fed, the first one. Jason Alexander, who was Mr. Britney Spears for 55 hours in 2004, is currently incarcerated in Van Nuys, CA. Alexander was arrested for DUI in 2006 and ordered to complete alcohol education and visit the morgue. After he twice failed to show for those morgue dates, a judge had him tossed in the jail, where he’ll stay until December 9. He probably shouldn’t expect a visit from his ex-wife—she’s a little busy this week.
Alli “Can’t Talk” To Britney?

Alli Sims, who used to be Britney Spears’ BFF/assistant/lackey in her crazy days, was spotted cruising around Beverly Hills solo yesterday. She hasn’t been seen with Brit since daddy Jamie took over running the singer’s life and banned contact between the two. Sims told E! News that she’s still not allowed to speak to the pop star.
“I can’t talk to her right now. Maybe that will change at some point.”
But not in time for Brit’s b-day this year.
“I hope she has a great birthday. Happy birthday. I love you.”
Wonder what happened to that “singing” career Alli was planning?
K-Fed Tells His Side

Using his ex-wife’s comeback to get media attention, Britney Spears’ baby daddy Kevin Federline is on the cover of the new People trying to convince us that he’s Father of the Year. He said about getting custody of the boys:
“My first question to [my lawyer] was, “Am I ever going to be able to see my children?” I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That’s all that mattered. I didn’t know how much power Britney had. That really scared me.”
And he tells about the night Britney was taken to the hospital after locking herself in the bathroom with son Jayden:
“That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her ‘cause I care about her. That’s the mother of my children. Just because I’m not in love with her doesn’t mean that I don’t love her. I’m definitely rooting for her. There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.”
Of course you do, since she’s your meal ticket.
