As the new spokesperson for Coppertone Nutrashield, you can be sure Brooke Shields wears her sunscreen—but it took a scare to make her a believer in slathering on the SPF.

The actress revealed to People, “I had a spot on my face. The doctor scraped it, and it turned out to be precancerous. I was scared.” This was a major wake-up call for the former teen model, who “used to think it was the best thing in the world to be baking in the sun.”

But now Brooke’s not only vigilant about protecting her own skin, but that of her two fair-skinned daughters Rowan, 6, and Grier, 3. She admits it isn’t easy to get the kids to wear sunscreen. “They’re totally not fine with it. They fight me. They do the thing where while you’re putting it on, they’re backing up. I’ll lock my legs around them … They’re really fair, and they’ve already had sunburn. It has to be every day.”

Good for Brooke—you gotta get those girls into the habit of protecting their skin while they’re young. It’s the holiday weekend already—wear your sunscreen!

Like Brooke Shields’ TV show “Lipstick Jungle” didn’t have enough problems—now they have a crook in their midst. A stage manager has been charged with 13 counts of grand larceny and three counts of petit larceny after getting nabbed for swiping more than $30,000 worth of designer goodies from the set.

The NY Post reports that Arthur Moreira allegedly made off with articles from Fendi, Gucci, Prada and  Burberry from a Brooklyn warehouse where props are stored. What finally did him in was trying to sell five handbags which had been loaned to the show by high-end designer Toledano. The bags were never returned and a sharp-eyed Toledano employee spotted the bags for sale on eBay.

The DA’s office caught Moreira in their sting last week, when he sold an agent a Toledano bag for $500 and a Burberry coat for $1,400, bragging to investigators that the items “fell off the back of a truck.” 

No, dummy. Tony Soprano could get away with that but you can’t.

Brooke Shields just can’t accept that her faltering NBC drama “Lipstick Jungle” is likely DOA, even as the show’s finale airs and her costar Robert Buckley has already been cast on CWs “Privileged.” She told Usmagazine.com:

“We keep getting emails—they’re all positive—and the sets are still up. I’m not going to give up until I get the final word. I’m hanging on. I have faith.”

Brooke can hang on all she wants—but her show won’t.

To the surprise of, well, hardly anybody, NBC has canceled Brooke Shields’ underperforming series “Lipstick Jungle.” Ratings for the comedy had fallen even lower since its return for a second year. Also getting the ax was the Christian Slater action series “My Own Worst Enemy.” Look for more series to fall when November sweeps are over.

“Lipstick Jungle” star Brooke Shields may be joining the long list of actresses adopting children. “We would adopt,” she told Extra. “I think it might me the next thing, There are a lot of babies out there in our immediate backyard that need families so I’m starting to think about that.” Brooke and husband CHris Henchy have two daughters already. Brooke may have more time on her hands soon to think about adopting—her series has dropped in the ratings and is facing cancellation.

Lipstick Jungle star and original Calvin Klein model, Brooke Shields, was spotted with her kiddies at Brentwood Market today. The kids took part in some face painting and Rowan and Grier looked absolutely adorable! I read a couple of stories today saying that Brooke wants to try for a son, since she has two little girls. Well, good luck with that, Brooke. She is also going to be appearing in a new horror film called The Midnight Meat Train. Yes, that’s what it’s called.
