Cameron Diaz’s Dad Dies

This is really sad news. TMZ is reporting that Cameron Diaz’s father died early this morning from pneumonia. Emilio Diaz was only 58 years old and was in good health, the report says, so it was a shock for everyone. Cameron is currently filming My Sister’s Keeper in Los Angeles and production on the film was shut down today. Condolences to Cameron and her family.

OK, so it’s not her new man but we did catch Cam planting a big fat one on her ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ co-star Jason Patric today. Cameron and Jason were filming a scene with co-stars Sofia Vassilieva on a Southern California beach today when we snapped the photos above and below. Cameron’s admitted to some recent boy craziness the last couple weeks and she was rumored to be canoodling with Scottish actor Gerard Butler. Since the only other Scot I know is Ground’s Keeper Willy, I’ll have to assume Gerard won’t be happy to see these pictures! And if you didn’t already know, Dakota Fanning was rumored to have passed on the role that Sofia Vassilieva is portraying because she refused to shave her head. What a diva that Dakota Fanning is.
On Location: My Sister’s Keeper

We have a few pictures from the set of My Sister’s Keeper starring Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin while they were filming in the valley today. Our photog snapped a few photos of Cameron and Abigail hanging out in between takes. This is a serious role for Cameron, so she’ll be able to show off her acting chops. My Sister’s Keeper is based on the novel by Jodi Picoult about a little girl who sues her parents for the right to make her own decisions about how her body is used when a kidney transplant is planned to save her older sister. Cameron looks like she’s bonding with her co-stars and is probably giving young Abigail a bunch of advice about the business. Check out more photos from the set below.

Our photog caught up with none other than Cameron Diaz filming My Sister’s Keeper in Los Angeles today. The movie is an adaptation of Jodi Picault’s novel of the same name. Cameron’s actually going to be playing a mom in this movie. Yes, a mom. I didn’t think I’d see this day. Plus, I don’t think I’ve seen her in a drama since…I can’t think of anything right now, but I’m sure there was something. Well, it’ll be good to see her in a serious role. We’ll definitely try to get more pictures of Cameron on the set in the next few weeks, so stay tuned if you’re a Cam fan!
