Eva Longoria Parker devotes many hours of her time to charitable causes, and the ones which aid children are closest to her heart. Next week, The “Desperate Housewives” star will be co-hosting Padres Contra el Cancer’s ninth annual El Sueño de Esperanza fundraiser with old pal George Lopez, and among those being honored is her hair stylist Ken Paves.

Eva told E!’s Marc Malkin why Paves is so deserving. “Kenny’s done a lot regarding children with cancer. He’s made wigs, and donated wigs, makeovers and his time. He’s really done a lot and he’s done it for free. People just see him as this celebrity hairstylist who gets to work with beautiful women. He’s so much more than that.” Kudos to Eva and Ken for using their fame to help kids in need!

Eva Longoria Parker played hostess at her at Beso Restaurant in Hollywood as the stars came out to help hair stylist Ken Paves celebrate his birthday. The “Desperate Houswives” star is a longtime client of Paves.

It was like the first day of school on the set of “Desperate Housewives,” as old cast members greeted each other and welcomed newcomers. Present and accounted for on location in Hollywood were Eva Longoria Parker, Felicity Huffman, Doug Savant and Drea de Matteo.

It’s mid-summer and network TV is pretty boring, but at least we have the new fall season to look forward to. “Desperate Housewives” is now filming new episodes, and Eva Longoria Parker was spotted talking on her cell phone on location in Hollywood. It looks like the glam Gabby we love will be back with a vengeance!

So what happens when the majority of the tabloid worthy celebs leave town for Sundance or Inauguration? You get lots more hard up paps working on lesser stars, that’s what happens. And that’s what indeed happened on Monday as poor Eva Longoria, who probably wasn’t invited to DC or Utah, waded into the shark infested waters of Beverly Hills. And what’s great about this video is the fact that we get to make fun of the new guy, David. We’re all friends here at JFX and as much as we like to make fun when other paps fall over themselves or planters, it’s even better to make fun when it happens to one of us. “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria Parker launched a pap frenzy when she left a Beverly Hills medical building today. Do her newly long locks mean that glam Gabi will be back and drab Gabi is out? We hope so—Eva is so good when she’s bad!

Eva Longoria Parker and Lucy Liu are among the celebs who have vowed to support President-elect Obama by making changes in their lives. Reuters reports that Longoria Parker has sworn off plastic water bottles while Liu promises to ride the subway when she visits New York.

In answer to Obama’s call for community service, over 50 Hollywood celebrities have pledged to take positive action in a video from Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. The video will premiere on MySpace by Monday, the day before Obama’s inauguration.

Kutcher told Reuters, ”There’s an assumption that this one man is going to take on his new job full-time and somehow wave a magic wand of change, and I don’t believe that to be true. I think that we have to be the leaders, and that’s not celebrities—I think that we as citizens have to be leaders of the movement that we want to create.”

This is a nice thought but I wonder how many of the rich and famous are willing to make real sacrifices for the environment—like giving up Lear jets to fly commercial. Or trading in their luxury SUVs for hybrids. That’s the kind of change that would really set an example.

Eva Longoria Parker spilled her New Year’s resolutions to E!—and none of them involved getting pregnant. She stated that both she and husband Tony Parker are “trying to be really healthy” and that she plans to give up meat. That won’t be easy considering the time she spends at her Hollywood restaurant Beso. 

Eva revealed that the highlight of 2008 for her was “My one-year anniversary vacation! It was on a boat in the South of France and Italy, so that was really great.” At least someone had something nice to remember about last year.

If you’re in L.A. and still haven’t picked a place to party tonight, Eva Longoria Parker is hosting a bash at her Hollywood Blvd. restaurant, Beso. Expected guests include stars from “Desperate Housewives” and Eva’s better half, Tony Parker. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Savi and Jose Cortes of the Gipsy Kings. Plus watching Eva climb up on a chair to kiss Tony at midnight.

She says she loves the other gals on “Desperate Housewives.” “The women on the show are dear friends of mine. It’s been such a gift for me to be in their presence and learn not only from their acting abilities but from their life experiences.”

She and her hubby take turns doting on each other. “But there are times when Tony takes care of me—in an emotional sense, like, OK, let me take the reins on this one. But I love to take care of him. I’m really a very fifties housewife. Yes, I love having dinner ready and making sure his clothes are ironed and that he’s packed and ready when he goes on road trips.

She admires the new First Lady. “Michelle is going to be an amazing First Lady: She’s intelligent, capable and motivated. She just embodies everything that an American woman should represent.”

The major shocker is what we can expect from Gabrielle Solis when “Housewives” comes back in January. Poor Gaby has gone from glam model to frumpy mommy this season but Eva reports, “When this article comes out, Gabrielle will be glam again.”

That’s something to look forward to for the new year!

Eva Longoria Parker has been rumored to be pregnant for so many months, she’d be farther along than Ashlee Simpson by now if they were true. Last night at the BlackBerry Bold party at Villa in West Hollywood, Eva scotched that talk by not only looking as skinny as ever but also smoking cigarettes all evening. Maybe this season’s plot line on “Desperate Housewives” has turned her off the idea of motherhood—at least for now.

Eva Longoria Parker and husband Tony Parker lunched at Toast in West Hollywood yesterday. Tony recently admitted that Eva’s not pregnant, just fat. I’m sure that Eva appreciated Tony setting the record straight on that rumor with his tact.

Our photogs spotted Mrs. Eva Longoria-Parker filming Desperate Housewives yesterday in Pasadena. I still can’t get used to Eva’s short bob. Sometimes I’m diggin’ it and sometimes…well, it’s just there. And I have no idea what she’s doing in the pic below, but I’m sure it’s part of a very interesting plot line. Or she really just likes that door. Anyway, there are still tons of stories out there claiming that Eva’s desperately trying to get preggy. Even her DH producer, Marc Cherry, told Us Weekly recently that Eva really wants to be of child: “Eva is desperately trying to get pregnant with Tony Parker. After they phone their doctor, she promised me I will be the next call!” Well, let’s hope for Eva’s sake that the stork is just right around the corner. That’s totally what Eva Longoria looks like she’s saying to whomever she was talking to yesterday on the set of Desperate Housewives in North Hollywood. Neck roll and everything. With the new hairdo, the hoop earrings and the outgrown roots, she’s supposed to look like a regular, tired mommy of two (what Gaby ended up being on the show). Instead, she looks like one of my old chola girlfriends from high school who ran out of Wet ‘n Wild liquid eyeliner (gotta’ be liquid) and Aqua Net (super extra hold). And that’s not a muffin top forming on Eva’s little belly. The bulge is supposed to be part of a body suit. Mrs. Parker did admit she gained a few pounds over the break for Gaby’s new story lines, but she still needed help looking fat. Oye, what a curse! And since I am now very saddened by Eva’s fat-suit curse, I will delve into my 99 cent Mc Donald’s double cheeseburger in her honor. Eva Longoria decided to chop her hair off, just in time for the summer heat. I’m diggin’ the new haircut, actually. She looks younger and fresher. Here she is with hubby Tony Parker yesterday after they had lunch at Toast in Los Angeles. Tony’s off for the summer, so he’s been hanging out with his wife. The couple just came back from a trip to Italy last week. They have been dodged by pregnancy rumors as of late, too, but of course they’re denying it. I can see Eva having a baby in a couple of years. It’s probably part of her five-year plan. The wedding’s checked off, as is the new restaurant, so the baby’s slowly moving up the list. Our photogs spotted Eva Longoria leaving the Ken Paves Salon yesterday and the Desperate Housewives star made a quick stop to lend a helping hand. One of the paps on the scene fell and who was there to help him get up but Mrs. Tony Parker herself. Freshly-coiffed, she gave the photog a friendly hand off the pavement. Awww, isn’t that sweet? Of course, this happy demeanor was before she watched her husband’s team get their booties served to them by our L.A. Lakers, but hopefully it lasted well into the night. By the way, go Lakers!
