CBS announced this morning that Britney Spears will present the Top Ten List on tonight’s “Late Show with David Letterman.” This is Brit’s first visit to the show since a surprise drop-in back in 2006.

The segment was pre-taped, and according to People, Brit delivered the list while wearing a tiny black bikini. So what’s the subject of tonight’s list? Ways things would be different if she were president! “Late Show with David Letterman” airs on CBS at 11:35 pm.

 Britney Spears is back in SoCal, taking a break from her “Circus” tour. On Wednesday, she made a quick run for Starbucks in Calabasas, CA, only to find that the parking lot was full. But Brit was all smiles after her security guy fetched her favorite latte.

He must be hard up for cash again, because Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi is back working on his lawsuit against the singer and her family.

According to TMZ, Lutfi has filed legal papers in his ongoing defamation lawsuit against Britney, Jamie and Lynne Spears, basicially blaming them for everything that’s wrong with his life. Shady Sam claims Mama Lynne lied about him in her book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”

Lutfi says that as a result of Lynne Spears alleged “lies,” which include that he secretly placed ground up pills in Britney’s food, people are being mean to him. Poor wittle Sammy sez, “I am constantly in fear for my life…” because he’s getting “harassed and cajoled by the public.” I guess it’s never occurred to him that people don’t like him because he’s ugly and obnoxious. Or because he owes them money.

Shady Sam has also managed to drag Brit’s former BF Adnan Ghalib into his suit, like the ex-pap doesn’t have enough trouble already. Lutfi says he has a declaration from Ghalib refuting Lynne’s statement that Sam was holding Britney hostage. Maybe poor Adnan is the last person still speaking to him.

JFX has photos of Sam and Britney together, but nobody really wants to look at his ugly mug anyway. Wouldn’t you rather see Brit in a clingy top?

Put down that phone, Britney! You’re not supposed to be doing that—at least not while you’re driving.

Taking a break from her “Circus” tour, Britney Spears was back on her home turf Monday, and indulged in one of her favorite pastimes—making a run to Starbucks in Calabasas, CA. Brit looked ready for summer in her shapely checked top and cutoff shorts.

The Britney Spears legal circus just keeps rolling on. Now a two-year-old incident has come back to haunt her.

The AP reports a paparazzi photographer who has worked for TMZ filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles today. Ricardo Mendoza alleges the singer committed assault and battery when she ran over his foot in a Beverly Hills parking garage in October 2007. A video of the incident can be viewed here. 

Britney was understandably upset at the time, because she had just found out she lost custody of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline, so she probably should have let someone else drive.

But isn’t this just the sort of thing Big Daddy Spears and his mighty Conservatorship are paid to take care of? Why haven’t they already thrown some of Brit’s money at this guy to make it all go away? Does Britney really need to have the mistakes she made during her darkest days dragged out again?

No wonder Britney Spears has so many legal bills. It seems like every few days, somebody wants to dig into her deep pockets.

TMZ reports a former bodyguard named Kerry Vine has filed a suit claiming he was injured while working at the singer’s old home. The papers say Spears “negligently operated her home and business thereby causing injuries to [him].”

So what were his “injuries?” A source told TMZ that Vine worked for Brit three whole days. On the third he offered to move a small table with several other men, then called in sick the next day and never returned. This happened over a year ago, and the guy’s been on worker’s comp ever since, claiming “shoulder pain.”

So did his worker’s comp run out, and suing Brit looked easier than actually getting a job? He wouldn’t be the first former employee to sue her when he ran out of cash.

When Britney Spears checks in to London’s posh Dorchester Hotel for the British leg of her “Circus” tour, she can expect the hotel’s staff to be ready for her—because she’s already presented them with her list what she demands from them.

CBS News reports the pop princess has a rider telling what she wants, including a room that has “never” been smoked in at all, several humidifiers, a selection of magazines, fresh flowers, DVDs of her favorite Marilyn Monroe films, chick lit novels, 100 watt light bulbs, a map of running routes for Hyde Park, and a list of alternate routes between the hotel and her 02 Arena concert venue to confuse the paps.

Why a non-smoking room for someone who obviously smokes? Good luck on finding “a room that has ‘never’ been smoked in at all” in a hotel built in 1931—more than 70 years before there were any smoking regulations in Great Britain.

These don’t sound like they came down from Daddy Spears, since he’d be demanding the hotel empty the minibar in Brit’s room—and shut off the phones.

Former Britney Spears manager Sam Lutfi will get his day in court—but not until next year.

AFP reports Lutfi has been given a March 8, 2010 trial date in his suit against the Spears family, which alleges defamation, assault and breach of contract. Lutfi charges Britney’s parents Jamie and Lynne Spears “began a campaign of slander, libel and defamation aimed at discrediting, destroying and physically and emotionally intimidating Lutfi in order to drive him out of Britney’s life.”

The Spears family may file a countersuit. They have already obtained a permanent restraining order which prohibits Lutfi from coming within 100 yards of the pop star, her kids or her parents.
