Billy Ray Sounds Off on Foxx
Thursday, April 16th, 2009Jamie Foxx has already apologized for his lewd and inappropriate remarks about Miley Cyrus on his radio show, but her daddy still isn’t ready to forgive and forget.
US Weekly reports Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on the “Bonnie Hunt Show” and had some harsh words for Foxx. “It was hurtful. There wasn’t nothing funny about it. And, quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic.”
Who could blame him? So-called “comics” like Foxx need to learn that making sexual comments about underage girls is not only in bad taste, it can get you into trouble.

Jamie Apologizes To Miley
Wednesday, April 15th, 2009You would think that a big star who has a new movie coming out that’s predicted to tank would be frantically trying to promote it and make himself look good. But instead, Jamie Foxx landed himself in the spotlight by making inappropriate sexual comments about a 16-year-old girl. Way to go, Jamie.
Foxx launched an on-air tirade on his Sirius radio show this weekend, suggesting that Miley Cyrus “make a sex tape and grow up… Get like Britney Spears and do some heroin… get some crack in your pipe.” Wonder what he’d do if someone make comments like that to his own teenage daughter?
Someone at Camp Foxx must have convinced him that he was not winning the public’s affection, so when he went on “The Tonight Show” to promote his film “The Soloist,” the comic actor issued a grudging apology.
E! reports how Foxx’s answered host Jay Leno’s query, “Did you say something inappropriate?”
“Yeah. I so apologize to [Cyrus], and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it. [Big laugh from the audience]. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.
“I have a radio show…We’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart.
“Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand.”
Yeah, you understand this is lousy PR for your movie, so you try to weasel out of the whole thing. I wouldn’t court on being invited back to the Academy of Country Music awards next year, dude. Or the Kid’s Choice awards, either.

Paramount Cuts Back For 2009
Friday, October 17th, 2008
It’s another sign the economy sucks when movie studios are pushing back the release of films with A-list stars and cutting back their output. Beset by budget problems, Paramount is pushing back “The Soloist” starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. from Thanksgiving to March and Daniel Craig’s “Defiance” from December to January. Representatives of the studio told the L.A. Times that studio would release no more than 20 films next year. Hard times tend to make audiences long for lighter, frothier fare from Hollywood—can we expect a sequel to “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” in 2009?
