Real Girls Join The Union

Our photogs spotted Ms. Jessica Simson rocking some torn-up jeans at LAX this weekend. And yes, she pulled it off, especially with the big ‘ol sunglasses making the outfit a bit more chic. Jessica recently joined the Country Music Association, showing she’s really serious about her musical genre change. “She was very sweet and seemed happy to join the organization,” a Simpson source told Eonline.com recently. “Being a member makes you part of the industry. It’s great for networking.” Along with SAG-style privileges, such as special-rate health insurance, her membership makes her a voting member of the CMA, meaning she could have a say in upcoming CMA Award nominations, according to E!. Well, good times for Jess. The new Stampede Light chica’s debut country album, titled Do You Know, is out September 9.
Jessica Wants You To Drink Beer

Well, not just any beer, mind you. Jessica Simpson wants you to drink a Stampede Light Plus. The newly crowned country crooner just signed on to become the new spokesperson for Stampede Brewing Company, based in Dallas, TX. Full financial terms were not disclosed, but the Dallas Morning News reports that besides appearing in their ads, Jessica is taking a 15 percent stake in the brewer. In a statement, Jessica talks about her new campaign. “As an entrepreneur, I am always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people. Yes, I work out and take care of myself, but I also like a cold beer once in a while,” her statement reads.
Laurence Schwartz, Stampede Brewing’s president and chief executive officer, is very excited about having Jessica as the company’s new spokeswoman. “She’s the face of the brand now,” says Schwartz. “Jessica is America’s sweetheart and an internationally known entertainer who takes care of herself. You can see it in her smile, her skin, her confidence and her obvious physical fitness.” Yes, yes. And I’m sure beer is the perfect thing to maintain all that health. Don’t you just love advertising?
Jessica’s Night Out

Our photogs spotted the very colorfully-dressed Jessica Simpson hanging out with her BFF/hair stylist, Ken Paves, last night. The duo were first seen heading to Pier 59 Studios West in Santa Monica and then trekked to celeb-friendly Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills afterwards. Jessica is still dating quarterback Tony Romo, and she even visited him at the Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, CA a couple of weeks ago. I wonder how Jessica’s going to feel when she reads the September issue of Allure Magazine, in which Carrie Underwood (Tony’s ex) mentioned that the QB still calls her on occasion. “The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer,” said the singer of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. She did explain that their relationship wasn’t serious and added: “We were both small town people doing very big things, and we relied on each other, dealing with fame.” So maybe they’re just good friends. Well, let’s hope Jessica won’t be too upset about that little quote. She hasn’t had the best of luck with men and it would be nice to see her and Tony work out. Yeehawwww! Jessica Simpson is on the cover of Elle Magazine’s September issue and she’s looking cowgirl-icious. Jess, of course, is paying homage to her down-home side, as she makes way to re-start her music career in the country genre. In the magazine, she promotes her new album, Do You Know, and she talks about love - losing it, getting it and how much she loves it. On her year-long romance with John Mayer: “John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within,” she tells the magazine. “He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else.” And Jessica on her new love, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo: “Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with. I’m a girl that loves to be in love,” she says. “I love love!” And we love that you love love, Jess. Oh, yes - she did. From one buxom blonde to another - this could be a very good celebrity boxing match, if they still have those things. The Sun is reporting about Pamela’s recent radio interview in Australia when she had some choice words for meat-loving Jessica Simpson. I guess Pam’s upset about Jessica wearing her now infamous shirt that read ‘Real Girls Eat Meat.’ It was thought to be a sideways attack on Tony Romo’s ex, Carrie Underwood, who is a vegetarian. Well, Ms. Pamela, who’s a staunch PETA supporter and known vegetarian, didn’t think Jessica’s shirt was amusing at all. Regarding Jessica, Pam had this to say: “I think she’s a bitch and a whore. Actually, I don’t know if she was talking about food or men.” Meeeoooow! No word yet from Jessica’s camp, but I’m going to assume that she’s probably heard about this already. It’s nice to know that if you disagree with Pamela on one of her beliefs, she’ll call you a bitch and a whore. Way to be a role model for your kids, Pam.
