Travolta Says Scientology Helped Him Heal
Friday, January 29th, 2010It’s been just over a year since John Travolta lost his son Jett, and the actor is crediting his faith in Scientology with helping him get through his grief. At the premiere last night of his film “From Paris With Love,” Travolta told the AP, “We work hard every day with our church on healing, and Kelly and I and Ella have all been working very hard and they’ve been helping us.” He added, “Once you get yourself stable, then you’re able to reach out again, you know, and I think this whole year every day we’ve been working on stabilizing ourselves and it’s been successful so far.” Jett Travolta died in January 2009, following a seizure.

Will The Governator Give Up His Plane?
Thursday, January 21st, 2010A Congressional candidate from L.A.’s Westside wants to ground the private jets used by celebs—starting with CA Guv Arnold Schwarzenegger. Marcy Winograd has sent a “no jets” pledge to the governor, plus Steven Spielberg, Julia Roberts, John Travolta and Tom Cruise, claiming that they “reportedly contribute to jet traffic at Santa Monica airport.”
Neighbors living near the facility have complained of pollution caused by the use of private jets. Will the rich and famous make the sacrifice and start flying commercial out of LAX like the rest of us? I seriously doubt it.

Paramedic Charged In Travolta Extortion Case
Monday, January 26th, 2009A paramedic has been charged with attempting to extort $25 million from John Travolta following the death of his son Jett in the Bahamas. The AP reports that Tarino Lightbourne, who was in the ambulance that carried Jett Travolta to the hospital following a seizure, has pleaded not guilty to attempting to extort and conspiracy to extort from the star. Other parties are still under suspicion in the case.
While details of the alleged extortion scheme have not been revealed, there have been rumors that there are photos of Jett Travolta taken in the ambulance and someone has tried to shake down the Travoltas with threats of making them public.
I hope the authorities get to the bottom of this. It’s reprehensible for someone whose job is supposed to be saving lives to use his position to try to make money off the misfortune of a grieving family.

Travolta Extortion Suspects Detained
Friday, January 23rd, 2009Police in the Bahamas have detained two men in an alleged plot to extort money from actor John Travolta following the death of his son, Jett Travolta, earlier this month. The AP reports that an island lawmaker and a paramedic are being held. Ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne had been quoted in tabloids describing efforts to revive Jett, who suffered a seizure at their family vacation home on Grand Bahama. Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater is also being held.
If these two used their positions to attempt to wring money from a grieving family, they’re total slime and deserve to be punished.
