Kathy’s D-List And Proud Of It
Tuesday, June 9th, 2009Kathy Griffin is an Emmy-winning TV star with a memoir coming out in September, but she insists she still belongs on the D-list.
Griffin told the AP, “I have proof although I’m flattered at the suggestion that I could even be a C-minus. Recently, I was on tour and they delivered me a sandwich and it said Taffy Griffin. Now, I’d like to think that’s maybe what they thought my stripper name was, but no. My name was on the marquee. Sold-out show. Taffy Griffin. I’m on the D-list where I belong.”
But she admits there’s a downside to semi-fame. “What is tough for me as a D-list celebrity is that kind of puts Speidi and me in the same category and that hurts. That’s a bitter pill for me to swallow.”
After a week of non-stop Speidi bombardment, I think most of us agree with her on that.

Kathy Won’t Make Fun Of Lindsay
Friday, April 10th, 2009Tart-tongued comic Kathy Griffin is willing to make just about any celeb the target of her barbs, but she plans to back off dumped actress Lindsay Lohan—for now, anyway.
Griffin told Popeater, “I’m more likely to make fun of Lindsay Lohan a year ago. She was clubbing every night with the girlfriend and, like, DJing — but now it seems like she’s in the throes of real trouble.”
The star of “My Life on the D-List” added, “It feels like kicking her when she’s down. Believe it or not, I might kind of take her out for the time being. That’s a little hard to find the comedy in.”
That still leaves plenty of famous names to diss—Griffin already has a ”raunchy song” prepared to dedicate to Chris Brown when she hosts “The A-List Awards” for Bravo on April 15.

CNN Sees Red When Griffin Gets Blue
Friday, January 2nd, 2009If you’ve been anywhere near the internet in the last couple of days, you’ve seen Kathy Griffin’s salty response to a drunken heckler as she hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast with newsman Anderson Cooper. Griffin’s never been the type to suffer fools gladly so it wasn’t that surprising when she responded to an inebriated pest with “Screw you. Why don’t you get a job, buddy? You know what, I don’t go to your job and knock the d—- out of your mouth.”
The Hollywood Reporter says CNN was not amused and issued this statement: “We recognize that the comment made by comedian Kathy Griffin during the live broadcast was inappropriate. She did not know she was on the air at the time, and we removed it from the rebroadcast.”
I wouldn’t expect to see the funny lady back hosting next year’s show but at least CNN is lucky that there are no FCC rules regarding cable obscenity.

Rock The House – Yours!
Wednesday, December 31st, 2008Don’t feel like dropping the big bucks or risking a DUI this New Year’s Eve? Then check out what the networks have for those who’d rather do their partying at home.
On cable, funny lady Kathy Griffin joins Anderson Cooper for CNN’s aptly-named “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.” The Disney Channel’s “Totally New Year” features their “Wizards of Waverly Place” cast Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, and Jennifer Stone. MTV will switch between a party in Times Square with the Veronicas and All Time Low and a Miley Cyrus concert at an Irvine, CA, high school.
On network TV, the classic “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” is back with the Jonas Brothers, will.i.am, Taylor Swift, Ne-Yo, and Lionel Richie. “New Year’s with Carson Daly” on NBC will feature Sir Elton John, Ludacris, T.I., the Ting Tings, and Katy Perry. “New Year’s Eve Live” on Fox has a lineup including Daughtry and David Cook from “American Idol” as well as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Scott Weiland and a stunt by daredevil Robbie Knievel.
So wherever you celebrate tonight, have a great 2009!

Kathy Deserves The Cash
Thursday, October 16th, 2008In a recent interview with comedienne Kathy Griffin, she basically stated that Bravo (the network currently airing her show My Life On the D-List) is being cheap and not giving her the pay increase she wants, and quite honestly deserves. In the past I thought Kathy was utterly annoying but this past season I have really come on board the Griffin train. Girl is hilarious! She’s in talks with other big networks but if all goes well she’ll be sticking with NBC, assuming of course that they pay up. But honestly, why wouldn’t they? Her ratings are through the roof and she has two Emmy’s… wherever she ends up will be great for the big guys that sign the paychecks!
