Suri Needs To Kick The Bottle

Most moms are eager to get their babies off the bottle and learning to drink on their own, but Katie Holmes seems to be an exception. The actress mom was recently photographed feeding three-year-old Suri on the set of a film in New York. Still drinking from the bottle at three? Is that normal?
US Weekly questioned Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of “Food Fights,” about babies and the bottle. “By the time kids are nine months old, they have the physical development and mouth coordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw. That development comes pretty early.”
One big reason for losing the bottle is toddlers have grown their baby teeth, and bottle feeding can encourage tooth decay. What if Suri has become attached to her bottle and won’t give it up? Dr. Shu suggests that Katie “transition her to a different security object that doesn’t cause cavities.” Maybe it’s time to buy her a stuffed toy or a blanket!

Given the lack of style Katie Holmes has been showing all summer, I can’t see why anyone would want her name on a line of clothing, but it seems that anyone with a name can be a “designer” today.
People reports that Mrs. Cruise will be collaborating with her her stylist Jeanne Yang (she has a stylist?) to produce a line to be sold at chic boutique Maxfield in the fall. The pricey collection will include styles for women and kids.
Wonder if the line will have those ratty cardigans and cutoff jeans Katie’s been sporting lately?

So Katie Thinks She Can Dance

Now we know why Katie Holmes has been spending so much time at dance studios—she’s set to do a big production number on network TV!
A source present at FOX Studios for the Monday rehearsals for “So You Think You Can Dance” revealed these details to Usmagazine.com. Holmes will channel screen legend Judy Garland, lip-synching and dancing to the song “Get Happy,” from the 1950 musical “Summer Stock.” Holmes will wear a body-hugging all-black costume, topped by a black velvet fedora, while eight male dancers accompany her. No date has been confirmed for the appearance.
But why is the third Mrs. Tom Cruise making an appearance on a cheesy summer talent contest in the first place? Is she trying to revive what’s left of the promising career she had pre-marriage? If that was the case, why wouldn’t Tommyboy just buy her a good script and pay to produce it? Or is she looking for a way to get away from his iron grasp once and for all? Maybe grab Suri and head back to Broadway?

Looking more pulled-together than usual, Katie Holmes was spotted leaving the International Dance Academy on Hollywood Blvd. IDA is a fairly new facility whose clients have included Britney Spears, Rihanna, Lil Kim, Snoop Dogg and The Pussycat Dolls. Katie must have been getting some private instruction since IDA doesn’t have scheduled classes on Mondays.

A bodyguard helped Katie Holmes and three-year-old Suri walk to their car after a dance lesson in Pacific Palisades. Suri’s getting so big! Her print sundress is adorable, but Katie needs to retire those ragged cutoffs.
