Most moms are eager to get their babies off the bottle and learning to drink on their own, but Katie Holmes seems to be an exception. The actress mom was recently photographed feeding three-year-old Suri on the set of a film in New York. Still drinking from the bottle at three? Is that normal?

US Weekly questioned Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of “Food Fights,” about babies and the bottle. “By the time kids are nine months old, they have the physical development and mouth coordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw. That development comes pretty early.”

One big reason for losing the bottle is toddlers have grown their baby teeth, and bottle feeding can encourage tooth decay. What if Suri has become attached to her bottle and won’t give it up? Dr. Shu suggests that Katie “transition her to a different security object that doesn’t cause cavities.” Maybe it’s time to buy her a stuffed toy or a blanket!

Given the lack of style Katie Holmes has been showing all summer, I can’t see why anyone would want her name on a line of clothing, but it seems that anyone with a name can be a “designer” today.

People reports that Mrs. Cruise will be collaborating with her her stylist Jeanne Yang (she has a stylist?) to produce a line to be sold at chic boutique Maxfield in the fall. The pricey collection will include styles for women and kids.

Wonder if the line will have those ratty cardigans and cutoff jeans Katie’s been sporting lately?

Now we know why Katie Holmes has been spending so much time at dance studios—she’s set to do a big production number on network TV!

A source present at FOX Studios for the Monday rehearsals for “So You Think You Can Dance” revealed these details to Usmagazine.com. Holmes will channel screen legend Judy Garland, lip-synching and dancing to the song “Get Happy,” from the 1950 musical “Summer Stock.” Holmes will wear a body-hugging all-black costume, topped by a black velvet fedora, while eight male dancers accompany her. No date has been confirmed for the appearance.

But why is the third Mrs. Tom Cruise making an appearance on a cheesy summer talent contest in the first place? Is she trying to revive what’s left of the promising career she had pre-marriage? If that was the case, why wouldn’t Tommyboy just buy her a good script and pay to produce it? Or is she looking for a way to get away from his iron grasp once and for all? Maybe grab Suri and head back to Broadway?

Looking more pulled-together than usual, Katie Holmes was spotted leaving the International Dance Academy on Hollywood Blvd. IDA is a fairly new facility whose clients have included  Britney Spears, Rihanna, Lil Kim, Snoop Dogg and The Pussycat Dolls. Katie must have been getting some private instruction since IDA doesn’t have scheduled classes on Mondays.

Mom Katie Holmes told US Weekly why she and Suri’s dad Tom Cruise decided to give her a princess-themed birthday party earlier this month. “We had a great time [at Disney] — she loved it. It was her first time, and she loves the princesses. Actually, she loves being a princess.”

Katie added that she and Suri share an interest. “She loves Sleeping Beauty and all the Disney movies, and that’s great because I get to revisit them all again.”

Too bad they couldn’t touch up her interview answers because they’re pretty predictable and scripted. Especially this one about she and her puppetmaster Tom Cruise fell in love at first sight.

“From an early age I knew that I wanted to be in this business. So I did everything I could to get here, and when I met Tom, I knew in an instant that we were going to be together, that we were going to get married. He does have a very big life. And you know, we just do it. And, as a woman, you make that transition from being single to [being] a partner. I have a teammate, and it’s like, we’re going to make this work.”

Translation: A big movie star offered me a contract and he was supposed to make me an A-list actress, so I took it. Now I have to make this work because my film career is tanking and Iwant to make sure I collect my money when the gig is up.

Marrying a major movie star has historically been a good way for an aspiring young actress to get ahead. But in the case of Katie Holmes—aka Mrs. Tom Cruise—it seems to have had the opposite effect.

As FoxNews points out, when Tom Cruise jumped the couch, Katie’s career jumped the shark. When they began their whirlwind romance in 2005, Katie had filmed the acclaimed indie “Thank You for Smoking” as well as “Pieces of April” and “Batman Begins.” Katie seemed bound for bigger and better roles. Instead, her acting career was totally eclipsed by Cruise’s fame—and notoriety.

Now, at 30, Katie’s been consigned to bombs like “Mad Money” and small parts in mediocre films. If she hoped being on Tom’s arm would make her a bankable leading lady like his exes Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz, obviously she was wrong.

Maybe she could revive her career by aggressively going after more challenging roles, but would control freak Cruise let her? After all, he demanded that her nude love scenes be removed from ”Thank You for Smoking.” It’s doubtful he’d allow her to do another film like that—even if it had the potential to make her a star.
