Kevin Needs A Job

Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick have seen their savings evaporate in the alleged Ponzi scheme run by that crook Bernard Madoff, so Kevin’s gotta get back to work. At a Television Critics Association press event in L.A. on Friday, he told Life & Style:
“I don’t have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons.”
But the star seems to be staying positive about the financial debacle.
“There are a lot of things I’m grateful for: my health, my family, my career, my family’s health. We’ll march on. We have to. There’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life.”
At least his wife has steady work—she’s the star of TNT’s “The Closer.”

Swindling With The Stars

Ever wonder how stars like Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick (among many others) got snookered by con man Bernie Madoff? Maybe because there are too many people between the star and his money. Financial planner to the stars Michael Eisenberg explained to E!:
“Yes, there are lots of people working for celebrities, but they are all getting the same information, or lack of information, as everyone else. Doesn’t matter if there’s 1 eyeball or 40 eyeballs involved.”
It doesn’t help that Hollywood is a very small town where business is concerned and many stars are depending on the same pool of “experts” to manage their affairs. Eisenbergcontinued:
“If your best friend says this guy has an investment firm and he has been showing returns 10 to 12 to 13 percent on an annual basis—well, is this guy actually doing the investing? Does it matter?”
We can only hope that this mess will cause some stars to take a more hands-on approach to investing their money—while they still have the chance.

Kevin And Kyra Victims Of Scam

You can add Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick to the long list of investors who lost bog bucks to the scams of disgraced money manager Bernard Madoff, who cheated his mega-rich clients out of billions of dollars. There could be major money involved since Sedgwick. star of TNT’s “The Closer,” is reportedly the highest paid female star on cable TV and Bacon has had a long and lucrative acting career.
Their rep declined to say how much the couple had lost but confirmed that they did have investments with Madoff. Why the heck isn’t this jerk in jail now?

On Location: New York, I Love You

No, that’s not Kenny from South Park – it’s actually Scarlett Johansson all bundled up on the set of her new movie, New York, I Love You. Scarlett was spotted along with costar Kevin Bacon filming yesterday in NYC (makes sense) by our lovely east coast paps. Kevin looks like a dapper hitman, doesn’t he? New York, I Love You is going to be an anthology of several love stories set in, you guessed it, the big apple. I read that Scarlett’s actually directing one of short films in the movie, and since she’s a native New Yorker, it’s just fitting. Anyway, we have more pics from the set below. Check them out.
