More “Sex” Or No “Sex”?

Maybe Kim Cattrall should have checked with Sarah Jessica Parker before making that statement that the sequel to “Sex and the City: The Movie” was a definite go. Today “Sex” star and executive producer Parker countered:
“I’m thrilled to know Kim is excited but all the details are not yet done. With ‘the wind on our heels,’ we hope to make this a reality.”
Translation: We’re still fighting over money.

“Sex and the City: The Movie” was a huge hit earlier this year and there’s been speculation about a sequel for months. When questioned on Britain’s “Paul O’Grady Show” whether there would indeed be a sequel, “Sex” co-star Kim Cattrall answered “Yes, there will!” A spokesperson for New Line Cinema says the project is still “in negotiation” but since Kim was the major holdout delaying the first film, if she’s in, it’s probably on.

We all know and love her as Samantha on Sex and the City, but every ’80s kid became a Kim Cattrall fan when she appeared in Mannequin with Andrew McCarthy. Kim played Emmy the mannequin twenty-one years ago and she was just fabulous. She’s still fabulous and sexy these days and today she turns 52. Happy birthday, Kim! You make 52 look so good. Another SATC Movie?

It was bound to happen with the success of the first one, so why not make a Sex and the City sequel, right? Well, according to HBO, it just might happen. People Magazine talked to HBO co-President, Richard Plepler, about plans for SATC deux. “Everybody came away feeling very excited by [the first film's] quality and its success, so that always invites the possibility of a continuation,” Plepler told the magazine. It won’t be coming anytime soon, though. Plepler said that if there is a sequel, it would probably come in the next four or five years. Hmm, by then Charlotte’s adopted daughter Lily will be applying to college! Well, let’s hope we don’t have to wait that long to get another SATC movie.

Who didn’t love Samantha Jones on Sex and the City? She was the most believable character on the show. Okay, she wasn’t, but she was the most fun to watch. Lucky for you we caught Kim Cattrall, who plays the bold Samantha, on the set of the movie version. Kim and crew were filming in Santa Monica this weekend and it looks like her character is getting the hang of Southern Cali. Is her character going to be moving to Los Angeles? Oh, that would be fabulous. Is she bringing Smith with her, or have they broken up? Oh my goodness, I can hardly wait for the movie! Bring on spring already, will ya??? Breathe. And yes, I’m back. Kim Cattrall has been in the entertainment industry for a long time and I’m happy to see her career as successful as it is now. I remember seeing her in this funny ’80s movie (yes, I’m old) with Andrew McCartney called Mannequin…so old school. Kim’s actually sexier now than she was back then. She has that type of sex appeal Sharon Stone has - they actually get sexier as they age. Good times for all womankind. Anyway, we have more beautiful pics of Ms. Cattrall for your bulging eyes, so inhale them already!
