Miley’s No Twitard

While millions of teens are eagerly awaiting the release of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” one famous 16-year-old isn’t one of them. Disney megastar Miley Cyrus told Ohio radio station Q92, “I’ve never seen it and nor will I ever. I don’t believe in it.
“I don’t like vampires. I don’t like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night. I don’t like it. I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t like the shirts. I don’t like any of it. I feel really lame because everyone’s, like, so excited, and I’m like, ‘Don’t even talk about it.’”
Given how overexposed the whole “Twilight” thing has become, who could blame her?

Miley Voted Worst Influence

Miley Cyrus has been Disney’s most bankable superstar since the debut of “Hannah Montana,” but today she received a dubious “honor.” The teen phenom was voted worst celebrity influence of 2009 by AOL’s tween website JSYK.com (Just So You Know). Coming in behind Miley were pop princess Britney Spears and rude rapper Kanye West.
Yeah, Miley’s been ragged on for dressing too sexy and dating an older male model, but she hasn’t been caught drinking at Hollywood hotspots or sneaking out of motels in the early morning. So why the diss? JSYK.com editor Stephanie Cohen, theorized to Reuters, “I think Miley is in an interesting space where she is trying to graduate from being ‘Hannah Montana’ and a Disney channel celebrity and coming into her own and having a career beyond Disney. I think her fans still want her to be the sweet Hannah Montana and she is trying to age up…Parents are definitely resisting it.”
Those fans and parents are just going to have to face the fact that Miley’s growing up. She’ll be 17 next month—they can’t expect her to be a little girl forever!

Miley’s Fine, No Swine

Did she or didn’t she? This would be a more provocative question if we weren’t talking about the latest “in” malady, swine flu.
Earlier this month, teen superstar Miley Cyrus was forced to cancel a few concerts due to what she said at the time was strep throat. Her PR people denied Miley had swine flu, but this week her former castmate Cody Linley claimed that she did. He dished, “I spoke with her the day that she canceled the tour. She said she felt really bad, she just didn’t understand what was happening, but she just got really sick and had to run offstage because things were just, like, on her heart, too heavy. Then the next day she told me she had the swine flu.”
Miley’s reps told E! News, “Miley never had the swine flu, doesn’t have the swine flu, is not sick and has a concert tonight.” Whatever she had, Miley’s obviously over it. If she did have it, wouldn’t swine flu get you more publicity than plain ol’ strep throat?

Miley Signs Off Twitter

In a move that has shocked her fans, tween superstar Miley Cyrus has given up Twitter!
The Disney darling had been providing her two million followers with regular updates on her life, including her recent bout with strep throat. MTV reports that the grieving fans may have Miley’s BF du jour, her co-star in “The Last Song” Liam Hemsworth, to blame. Her final Tweet proclaimed, “FYI Liam doesn’t have a twttr & he wants ME 2 delete mine w/ gd reason.” The things we do for love!
But given how long Miley’s honeys have lasted in the past, I predict she’ll be kicking Liam to the curb as soon as the passion fades—and commiserating with fans via a brand new Twitter account.

Miley Tours Despite Throat Pain

Miley Cyrus has just started her Wonder World tour, but is already having problems.
The tween queen has been hit was a case of strep throat that forced her to take a 15 minute break from her show in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night. So far, Miley has not cancelled any shows and is scheduled to play in Omaha tonight. The very busy “Hannah Montana” star spent all summer filming the movie “The Last Song,” has a new EP out and has done a teen-trendy clothing line for Walmart. Now she’s on tour, and still has to film the final season of “Hannah Montana.”
The hard-working 16-year-old told People, “I’m a little tired I will admit but I’m just taking it easy when I can and take care of myself.” Isn’t it time Miley took a break?
