Miley Has To Settle For Secondhand Porsche

Miley Cyrus wanted a car for her 16th birthday. She got one but not the new Mercedes she wanted. She told Extra:

“I do have a car. I took my mom’s old car. I didn’t get the one I wanted, but I got the old car which wasn’t so bad because it was a Porsche… It was a pretty good hand me down.”

Maybe she didn’t get her dream car but Miley did get a happy surprise this morning when she was nominated for a Golden Globe for the song “I Thought I Lost You.” The teen star co-wrote the song with award-winning Nashville songwriter Jeffrey Steele.

Maybe she’ll get the Mercedes if she doesn’t wreck the Porsche before she gets her real license.

Miley Gets Behind The Wheel

She won’t need that bike much longer. Teen superstar Miley Cyrus proudly showed off her brand-new learners permit at a CA DMV Monday afternoon before getting behind the wheel to drive her mom’s SUV. Teens in California must get a learners permit and complete six hours of “behind the wheel” training in order to get a license before the age of 18. Whatever vehicle Miley wants after she gets her license, we know she won’t have to baby sit or mow lawns to pay for it.

“Hannah” Beats JoBros - On eBay

“Hannah Montana,” Madonna, “The Dark Knight” and President-elect Barack Obama topped the list of eBay’s best-sellers for 2008. 223,139 “Hannah” (and Miley Cyrus) related items were sold on eBay, way more than the numbers for Disney rivals “High School Musical” and the Jonas Brothers. Also big on eBay were Madonna (96,511 items),  ”The Dark Knight” (60,484) and Britney Spears (32,966). But the new president beat all three with 111,546 Obama-related items. Something tells me they didn’t sell a lot of George Bush stuff this year.

All you hatas can just chill out—”Hannah Montana” won’t be going away any time soon. The show, which stars Miley Cyrus, is the No. 1 basic cable series among kids 6 to 11 and the Disney Channel has ordered more episodes for the third season, which is airing now. Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide, stated:

“The talent behind Hannah Montana has made it a true global sensation and cultural icon not just on television, where it topped the ratings on Disney Channels around the globe, but as a chart-topping music act and beyond. It has become part of the global cultural lexicon for kids, parents and families everywhere.”

And as long as it keeps selling backpacks and DVDs for Disney, they’re going to keep it around.

Miley And Justin Won’t Tell Holiday Plans

They were together for Thanksgiving in NYC but teen superstar Miley Cyrus and her hot hunky model beau  Justin Gaston aren’t saying whether they’ll be rockin’ around the Christmas tree together over  the holidays? Miley told Usmagazine.com:

“I hope so. I love to spend the holidays with my friends.I think that we are really good friends, and we love hanging out and spending time together.”

Gaston was equally evasive.

“I don’t know where she’ll be, but I hope she has a good time,” he said. “I’ll probably be around somewhere and hanging with the family.”

How romantic. Trying to kiss under the mistletoe with Miley’s parents glaring at you.
