That overhyped Speidi wedding may have to take a backseat to the real nuptial event of the weekend.
E! reports that Salma Hayek and husband François-Henri Pinault, who were officially wed in Paris on Valentine’s Day, are planning a belated wedding celebration this weekend in Italy.
Pals, including including Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, have already started arriving in Venice for the bash, which is expected to be bigger than the couple’s very private wedding. The pair have a one-year-old daughter, Valentina Paloma.
Since the groom’s company runs Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, we can’t wait to see the guests’ goodie bags.

Most women who hooked up with a billionaire would want the most expensive wedding they could put together, but not Salma Hayek.
The actress spoke to People, and denied the rumors she’s planning a lavish second ceremony with husband Francois-Henri Pinault, with whom she tied the knot at City Hall in Paris on Valentine’s Day. “I think a wedding is about love, friends, family and fun. I think spending millions of dollars on a wedding is ridiculous and it has never been my dream. I would never do that.”
While it’s certainly refreshing to hear that one celeb has no desire to be a bridezilla, it’s too bad we won’t be seeing her in a breathtaking wedding gown—with little Paloma as her flower girl!

Salma Returns To The Screen

Salma Hayek’s had her hands full lately, being a mom, a new bride, acting in “30 Rock” and running her own production company. Now Variety reports she will return to the big screen for a comedy with funnyman Adam Sandler.
Salma will play Sandler’s wife, joining a cast that already includes Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, Colin Quinn and David Spade. The film will shoot this summer and is aiming for a 2010 release.

Salma Wants To Kiss And Make Up

Actress, producer and mommy Salma Hayek wants to add “Cosmetic Mogul” to her already lengthy resume. At her hair stylist Robert Vetica’s “Good to Great Hair” book party at Beso last night, Hayek told E! about her plans to launch her own line of makeup.
“I am trying to develop a line with a drugstore so that it’s affordable for everyone. I’ve been doing research for two or three years. My whole approach is, how can we get the essence of the really expensive ones but for everyone to be able to use.”
That certainly sounds practical for these hard economic times. Maybe being married to a billionaire mogul is giving Salma ideas about building her own empire!
