Britney Spears’s mom Lynne might think twice before she writes a sequel to her book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”

The book’s less-than-flattering statements about her daughter’s former manager are coming back to haunt her. KTLA reports a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge refused to dismiss Lynne Spears as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Sam Lutfi, and ruled that his lawyers had established a claim for defamation.

So does this mean Mama Spears has to hire a team of detectives to prove Shady Sam is the dirtbag she painted him to be in her book? And will the Bank of Britney get stuck with the bills?

He must be hard up for cash again, because Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi is back working on his lawsuit against the singer and her family.

According to TMZ, Lutfi has filed legal papers in his ongoing defamation lawsuit against Britney, Jamie and Lynne Spears, basicially blaming them for everything that’s wrong with his life. Shady Sam claims Mama Lynne lied about him in her book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”

Lutfi says that as a result of Lynne Spears alleged “lies,” which include that he secretly placed ground up pills in Britney’s food, people are being mean to him. Poor wittle Sammy sez, “I am constantly in fear for my life…” because he’s getting “harassed and cajoled by the public.” I guess it’s never occurred to him that people don’t like him because he’s ugly and obnoxious. Or because he owes them money.

Shady Sam has also managed to drag Brit’s former BF Adnan Ghalib into his suit, like the ex-pap doesn’t have enough trouble already. Lutfi says he has a declaration from Ghalib refuting Lynne’s statement that Sam was holding Britney hostage. Maybe poor Adnan is the last person still speaking to him.

JFX has photos of Sam and Britney together, but nobody really wants to look at his ugly mug anyway. Wouldn’t you rather see Brit in a clingy top?

Is there really a new development every day in the legal problems of Britney Spears, Inc., or does it just seem that way?

The story du jour is Jamie Spears’ response to the lawsuit by his daughter’s former manager Sam Lutfi against Camp Spears for breach of contract. RadarOnline quotes from the court papers, “Defendant J. Spears denies generally each and every allegation of plaintiff’s unverified First Amended Complaint, and denies the Plaintiff has been injured or damaged in any degree, amount, or sums, or is entitled to any relief at all.” Daddy Spears also defends any use of force against Lutfi. J. Spears was privileged to use force in and about the matters complained of in the FAC, if any force was used, because he was provoked by plaintiff through his words or conduct.”

As usual, Spears requests dismissal of the suit and payment of attorney fees. A trial is scheduled for March 2010. Spears will probably sue somebody to pay for that, too.

While Britney Spears has been busy touring, working her cute little butt off to make money, her daddy Jamie Spears has been busy spending it on lawyers, fighting anyone who threatens his stranglehold over his daughter’s life. Those pesky legal bills will get even higher now, since one of his targets is fighting back.

RadarOnline reports attorney Jon Eardley has filed papers in an L.A. court appealing the three-year restraining order served against him, and also objecting to being forced to pay the legal costs of obtaining the order. Eardley, Brit’s former manager Sam Lutfi, and her ex BF Adnan Ghalib were all slapped with three-year restraining orders keeping them away from the singer and her family. The three were also ordered to pay court costs the Spears team incurred obtaining the orders. 

Eardley objects to being lumped together with Brit’s former manager Sam Lutfi, stating, “The court will recall that the bulk of the witnesses were called with respect to Lutfi. The investigation substantially focused on Mr. Lutfi.”

A hearing is scheduled for May 29. Will Eardley have the legal savvy to stand up to the Spears conservatorship? 

Former Britney Spears manager Sam Lutfi has already been handed a three-year restraining order—now he may get stuck with the bill for it.

According to People, the legal team representing Spears’ conservatorship wants shady Sam to pay $123,142 for their fees in obtaining the restraining order. The legal eagles also are looking for $129,922 from attorney Jon Eardley and $72,292 from Britney’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, both of whom are also under restraining orders.

It looks like challenging Papa Spears’ authority gets more expensive all the time.

Former Britney Spears manager Sam Lutfi will get his day in court—but not until next year.

AFP reports Lutfi has been given a March 8, 2010 trial date in his suit against the Spears family, which alleges defamation, assault and breach of contract. Lutfi charges Britney’s parents Jamie and Lynne Spears “began a campaign of slander, libel and defamation aimed at discrediting, destroying and physically and emotionally intimidating Lutfi in order to drive him out of Britney’s life.”

The Spears family may file a countersuit. They have already obtained a permanent restraining order which prohibits Lutfi from coming within 100 yards of the pop star, her kids or her parents.

It wasn’t hard to see this one coming. Britney Spears can expect a big bill from her legal team again this month.

TMZ reports that Brit’s former manager Sam Lutfi has filed an appeal against the permanent restraining order granted earlier this week. Requested by Britney’s father Jamie Spears and the conservatorship that governs the singer’s affairs, the order prevents Lutfi from making any contact with his former client or her two children for three years.

So why is Sam protesting this now, when he couldn’t be bothered to show up in court to defend himself during the hearing?

Lutfi’s lawyer Bryan Freedman told TMZ, “Never before in the history of the world has a restraining order been granted as a result of someone answering someone else’s cries for help. The evidence showed it was Britney Spears reaching out to Mr. Lutfi and all he did was help her get a lawyer.”

Britney Spears’ former manager won’t be calling to discuss business anytime soon—like for the next three years.

TMZ reports the conservatorship that runs Britney’s life has been granted a permanent restraining order against Sam Lutfi and attorney Jon Eardley. The orders are in place until April 28, 2012, and prohibit the two men from coming within 100 yards of Britney or her sons and include her home and any workplace, plus the home of her ex Kevin Federline.

So why weren’t Lutfi and Eardley in court today to plead their cases? Did someone scare them off?

Two different teams of attorneys appeared in L.A. court today, arguing over the restraining orders placed against Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lufti and others.

E! reports that this morning, attorney John Anderson took the stand, claiming that he was asked to step into the case in order to free Britney from the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears. He stated, “A person who purported to be Lutfi told me that all of Britney Spears’ phone rights were cut off,” and added that she was virtually “in prison.” Anderson claimed to have sent papers to Spears which were returned with her signature, but officially backed out of the case Jan. 28, shortly before Jamie Spears went to court to ask for the restrainig orders.

In the afternoon, Spears’ attorney Blair Berk countered that Britney asked her father to keep Lufti away from her. “She repeatedly asked if I could get him arrested for what he’d done to her and to get the court to order him to stay away from her,” Berk stated. Berk also claimed that lawyer Jon Eardley made a “blatant” solicitation to work for Britney, but that the singer had told her that she did not want his services.

Berk also questioned the veracity of the voicemails which have been revealed here at JFXOnline, saying that “Moments it sounded like Spears and moments it didn’t,” adding that the tape “sounded like it had been edited.”

The restraining order against Britney’s former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib was extended to three years last month, and today’s testimony will be used to decide whether to do the same for Lufti and Eardley.

What a mess. Doesn’t it sound like somebody has be committing perjury here? They can’t all be telling the truth.

There was a surprise last-minute witness in today’s hearing seeking to extend the restraining order against Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lufti.

The AP reports that after the judge rejected a motion to dismiss the restraining order, Christine Lufti was called to the stand. Sam Lufti’s 25-year-old sister testified that Britney had actively sought his help and made repeated attempts to contact him in recent months. Ms. Lufti told the judge that she had talked to Spears, and stated the pop singer feared her father Jamie Spears and wants a new lawyer. Britney has been under her father’s conservatorship for the last year.

So the plot thickens. Will Ms. Lufti’s testimony convince the judge to dismiss the restraining order against her brother? Will this affect the ROs against Adnan Ghalib and Jon Eardley? Who’s really telling the truth around here?

RadarOnline reports the TRO against Lutfi and Ghalib has been extended until 8:30am on Wed., March 18th, when another hearing is scheduled. The TRO against Eardley is extended until 8:30am on April 1st. You can read the document here.

This certainly can’t be considered a huge surprise, but why extend the TRO for such a short period? What’s supposed to happen Wednesday?

I swear, I expect to hear next that Sam Lufti was caught kicking a dog. But for now we have to settle for him abusing a young fan of former client Britney Spears.

TMZ reports that a young man from Auckland, NZ, struck up a long distance friendship with Brit, trading phone calls and e-mails. Then Sam stepped in and according to TMZ, “Richards claims Sam used several email accounts, posing as Brit, sending emails to Stuart and his dad saying Stu was ‘dangerous and had mental problems.’”

Whew! Those e-mails are seriously creepy. And notice the e-mail address Shady Sam used—the one he denied was his when it turned up on Brit’s  messages. I wonder— did he start trying to contact Brit soon after he got the foreclosure notice on his condo? He needs to score some cash and shaking down a former client might look like the easy way to do it.

In the latest chapter of the soap opera that is Britney Spears’ life these days, her former manager Sam Lufti has filed a declaration in court that he had no direct contact with the singer, but her ex-BF Adnan Ghalib had acted as their go-between. Britney’s dad Jamie Spears has obtained a temporary restraining order against both Lufti and Ghalib. TMZ quotes Lufti:

“I did not initiate any direct communication with Britney Spears. Although I did receive text messages from her, all responses to those messages were conveyed to Britney through others, including … Adnan Ghalib.”

This directly contradicts testimony by Brit’s head of security that Sam tried “to contact Ms. Spears by sending text messages.” So who’s telling the truth?

This is the last thing Adnan Ghalib needs right now, as he’s facing three felony charges stemming from an altercation with a process server trying to deliver papers concerning the restraining order. 

It’s been an eventful day in the legal fight over Britney Spears and her affairs. An L.A. Superior Court granted Jamie Spears’ request to extend the temporary restraining order against former associates Adnan Ghalib, Sam Lufti and Jon Eardley until April 1, when another hearing is scheduled. According to E!, the following witnesses are expected at that hearing:

Daniel Haines, a man who obtained a restraining order against Lutfi two years ago; Stewart Richards, a New Zealander who somehow is linked to the IM screen name supposedly used by Lutfi or Ghalib to contact Britney; Blair Berk, Britney’s attorney; a phone expert who talked about photos found on Spears’ cell phone that came from an unknown source; and the process server who had the run-in with Ghalib.

It looks like we won’t be hearing from Britney herself as long as she’s under the conservatorship which grants Jamie Spears total control over his daughter’s life including “the power to seek restraining orders against those who would contact his daughter; bars her from consulting with any outside attorney; restricts her visitors and meetings; and allows her dad to monitor her phone calls and computer messages.”

How scary is that? Too bad the judge hasn’t interviewed Britney in chambers to get her true thoughts on what has happened.

An L.A. judge has extended the temporary restraining orders against Adnan Ghalib, attorney Jon Eardley and Sam Lutfi following testimony from Britney Spears’ hairdresser that she feared Lufti.

According to the AP, hairdresser Roberta Romero testified that Spears made her comments following efforts by Lufti to contact the singer by sending her hairdresser numerous text messages saying he was trying to “free” her. Romero claimed that Spears requested she tell Sam to leave them alone and notified her security detail about the messages. Romero stated, “She told me she’s scared of him and not to talk to him.”

Britney Spears did not testify, nor did Ghalib, who was not represented in court.  Attorneys for Jamie Spears attempted to call Lutfi as a witness on Wednesday, but his attorneys claimed he had not yet been served with a subpoena.The TROs remain in place until the judge hears further testimony April 1.

So where’s the evidence against  Ghalib? Is there testimony against him that hasn’t been reported? If not, why is there a TRO against him in the first place? And why is Eardley in this?

A Los Angeles judge has temporarily extended the restraining order against Britney Spears‘ former manager and an ex-boyfriend in order to have more time to hear arguments. The AP reports:

Judge Aviva K. Bobb extended a temporary restraining order against Sam Lutfi and paparazzo Adnan Ghalib until Wednesday morning. The singer’s father, Jamie Spears, will be allowed to testify this afternoon to accommodate his travel schedule.

Jamie Spears is seeking a longer restraining order against Ghalib, Lufti and sttorney Jon Eardley, claiming they have attempted to sabotage his conservatorship over his daughter’s affairs.

Sam Lufti, Britney Spears’ former manager who’s hard up for cash, has found a new way to sell her out. Trans World News reports that shady Sam is allegedly plans to tell all about the star and her much-publicized breakdown in a documentary.

Sources say Lufti is negotiating with UPN to produce the documentary. A source states: 

“Sam has realized that a TV show would get him a large chunk of money and he’ll get extra money on the back of it in magazines and newspaper interviews. This is his opportunity for him to get his lucrative revenge. To be a big earner, this documentary will need to be full of sensational and shocking revelations.”

Money and revenge? Nothing like betraying the trust of a friend and client. Is Sam really going through with this  or just looking for a way to extort some fast bucks off the Spears gravy train?

I’m sure Sam Lufti’s legal beagle Bryan Freedman hopes his client isn’t really broke and facing foreclosure on his home next week, since he’d like to get paid sometime. Freedman told E! that the rumors about Lufti suing former client Britney Spears and her family because he needs money aren’t true.

“It’s nonsense. The homeowners association misplaced two checks. The checks were paid. This is just more lies and misrepresentation about a guy who is a great, caring human being.”

Well, it’s nice that Mr. Lawyer is earning his fee—good luck on collecting that—but E! found the county tax record proving that Lutfi’s West L.A. condo is in preforeclosure. Wonder what kind of excuse we’ll hear when they throw Sam out?

Freedman also claims his client “still cares about Spears” and only named her in the suit for “procedural purposes.” Then he blames it all on Brit’s parents.He says, “At the end of the day, I think there is going to be a trial to determine credibility.” Yeah, credibility.

Now we know why Sam Lufti is suing the Spears clan—he’s hard up for cash. TMZ reports that the shady “manager” is $18,507.58 behind in his condo payments and faces foreclosure next week. He also faces a lawsuit over the $7,966.98 owed on his Discover Card.

Well, now his team of lawyers will know they’d better get some money out of that lawsuit really soon—that’s the only way they’re going to get paid.
