Will Taylor Triumph?

The CMA Awards show is just getting underway in Nashville, and the big question is: Can Taylor Swift take home Entertainer of the Year?
The biggest prize the Country Music Association can hand out has traditionally been a boys’ club, with only a handful of females winning in the last 40 years. Will tonight be any different? Taylor has sold more product in 2009 than any other living artist—only Michael Jackson has beaten her, but look how he did it!
To claim this glass trophy, Taylor will have to beat out four male superstars—George Strait, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney. Kenny has won EOTY four out of the last five years. Both Strait and Urban are also past winners. Paisley could be the dark horse who breaks from the pack, since he has the respect of the country music industry and a total of six nominations.
Only one thing is sure—if Taylor loses, there will be a lot of angry teen fans venting their anguish tonight!

These two sure look cute together, but what are we supposed to call this coupling? Team Tay-Tay? T-squared?
Teen heartthrobs Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift met while filming the romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day” during the summer, and there were rumors that sparks flew between the pair. Then the “Twilight” star was spotted at Swift’s recent Fearless tour stop in Chicago.
Now RadarOnline reports the two were seen leaving the posh Beverly Wilshire Hotel together after attending a Los Angeles Kings/Columbus Blue Jackets game on Sunday. I hope this doesn’t get their young fans too upset!

Taylor Crashes The Boys’ Club

Taylor Swift already has a pretty impressive showbiz resume for a 19-year-old who’s been in the business a very short time, but today she scored a major slam dunk!
The nominations for this year’s Country Music Association Awards were announced in Nashville this week, and Swift snagged a nod for the major prize, Entertainer of the Year, competing with good ol’ boys Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban. Not only is she the youngest CMA EOTY nominee ever, she’s the first female to break into the category in nine years! While female artists have taken the coveted trophy in the past—the Dixie Chicks won in 2000, Shania Twain in 1999—the guys have always had a major advantage.
But this year could be a lucky one for the ladies, since Carrie Underwood was voted 2009’s EOTY by the rival Academy of Country Music. Will Taylor make it a sweep for the fair sex? The winners will be announced November 11 on ABC.

Taylor Takes A Spill

As his country superstar castmate Taylor Swift looked on, “Twilight” actor Taylor Lautner took a nasty spill on the set of “Valentines Day,” filming on location at University High School track field in West Los Angeles, CA. Lautner tried getting momentum as he ran the hurdles, but didn’t quite make it all the way over. The actor was shaken up, but dusted himself off and got back into character.
