Cops vs. Paps

Yup, the cops are after us. Thankfully JFX has managed to stay out of the po po’s war path over the last couple days, though. The police are responding to complaints from local businesses and residents around Los Angeles who have voiced concern over the paps’ presence and driving tactics. The cops have chosen to concentrate on the photogs who work exclusively on Britney Spears and today they were waiting for photogs at a notoriously heavy trafficked intersection in Beverly Hills. Cops were positioned so that unsuspecting photogs who broke any traffic laws, big or small, were automatically pulled over and ticketed. Yes, ladies and gents - the cops are now setting traps out for paps. All this law enforcement crackdown was bound to happen, especially with the current flurry of Britney chasings always in the media limelight. But is singling out photographers lawful? Also, what if it’s the celebrity being followed that disobey traffic laws. Will they also be pulled over and ticketed? I think what these cops fail to realize sometime is that the paparazzis roaming the streets are only doing their jobs - it’s their livelihood. Why would you need to police folks who are only doing their jobs? At any rate, I’m sure there are tons of you out there with different points of view, so feel free to leave us a comment. I’ll have more updates on the subject soon, as I’m sure discussion will increase in the next couple of days.
