Commentary: Papin’ Ain’t Easy
Ashley Tisdale’s house was broken into recently and since police weren’t able to arrest anyone for it, Ashley tried to put the blame on the paparazzi. Ashley spoke to Access Hollywood where they reported a man with a video camera broke into her condo in what Ashley believes was an attempt to get footage. “They broke in an entry and went into the hall and followed my stylist.”
Let’s be honest here. First off, if a pap broke into a home to get footage, he would be incriminating himself with the footage if he attempted to sell said footage. No news outlet would ever buy footage acquired through illegal activities as they would likely be charged with a crime. Secondly, that movie ‘Paparazzi’ was just that, a movie. As hard as Mel Gibson tried to turn us all into overly obsessive lunatics, we’re not. Finally, Vanessa Hudgens gets more attention than you not because someone stole her naked pictures but because she’s Zac Efron’s girlfriend. If it was you who had those pictures released, Disney would have dropped you quicker than the value of my 401(k) in recent months.
Talk like this gets me angry because it creates situations where paparazzi are looked on as less than human, as people that can be spit on or beat down without consequence. Just yesterday there was footage of Tobey McGuire’s alleged friends throwing down with paps and Johnny Depp’s bodyguard slapping around some photogs. It’s getting to the point where even the paparazzi know it’s better to not be called paparazzi.
Although not all paparazzi follow the rules, a pap breaking into someones house threatens more than a celeb, it threatens the entire business. Other photogs wouldn’t sit idly by while a rogue pap or a dangerous stalker broke into a celebs home. If it’s not business as usual, that costs photogs money because it creates so much tension between the celebs and paps, if you can still manage to get a photo, it’s usually worthless. When you start messing with pap’s money you’re likely to feel their wrath quickly. You can’t blame the paparazzi for all the bad in this world. Celebs use us every day when it suits them, when they need attention for their movies or to save face and we surely don’t mind it. But when you start to point fingers and make accusations without consequence, karma may not like that.
One day soon, the paparazzi will organize and when that happens, perhaps we’ll have long memories and have the power to decide what stars get photographed and which don’t. Will celebs choose to to diss paparazzi when they need us most? Like when their new album or movie is about about to be released. Remember what happened to George Clooney when he took on the paparazzi? Even since then, he’s had run ins with paparazzi, but has wisely chosen not to call press conferences to bitch about it.
Having someone break into your house is no laughing matter, I know that. It’s scary and leaves you feeling violated. But Ashley, just because you’re scared, don’t turn the paparazzi into the boogey man because one day we may not be around for you to blame and I dare say, you may be missing us by then.

Heh heh, yeah, it took me a while! But on the bright side, our new writers will be starting tomorrow. Linda and Elizabeth are coming in to sign paperwork and learn the system. They may start putting some posts up in the evening!

Anyway, why cant the celbebs start use their own public relations spokesman/women/photograph and start some own site TOGETHER?

I agree excellent post Ronnie. I know there are rogue paps out there but from what I have seen and learned the others would not allow them to break into houses. Most of the time paps are not alone since there are others trying for the same shots. She needs to understand that she is not all that. Who cares. Like you said Vanessa gets more noticed than she does anyway.

Hey Everyone. Sorry for the slow posts today. The new writers came in for an orientation and it took longer than I thought it would.
All the guys are out playing paintball today so there won’t be any pictures. JFX, some friends and rivals went out to play some paintball today. As a matter of fact, they’re still there! Sadly, I couldn’t make it but from what I hear, Uli’s been working on a Pap 101 for you guys.
Elizabeth and Linda will be starting tomorrow so be sure to welcome them with open arms.

Ronnie - How are the fires in that area? Everyone ok or are they getting close to home?

No one at JFX has been affected. A friend of our was evacuated from his home early Monday morning but has since been able to return home. So far, the fires are outside of our direct vicinity.
Everyone has been keeping one eye on the smoke trails off in the distance though.

No, no hidden thoughts here. I just can’t see the pros in Britney sans band/dancers/synthesized vocals being able to pull off something live, up close and personal, and direct. She’s more of an entertainer - never really thought of her as a SANGer. The unplugged artists usually have, like, raw pure form, talent. I mean she’s fine and all…but…

I agree with you Doc. Although talented, she’s not suited for standing up there with genuinely talented musicians who can be showcased with an unplugged set.
Xtina, Alicia Keys and I dare say even Pink could pull it off, although Pink more for her energy than singing ability.
I’m off! Serg just brought in the tapes from their paintball adventures. I can’t wait to watch them later. I’ll try to have it ready tomorrow!

Well , its only Pink, of those you mention, who have any personality, entertainment quality, to maybe, maybe, can compare with Britneys star quality.
In small town choirs you can find better voices than most of the famouse singer/entertainment people in the business, so what is all about?
Even harder to find a good male singer, and God forbid if he have voice, talent, but have done anything who not please a paparazzo! Then he is nothing forever and ever!
