Jury Selection For Britney Trial Starts Today
I’m not sure who ultimately is responsible for this going as far as it has, but whoever it is, they should be fired! Jury selection for the Britney Spears driving without a license trial started today. That’s right, a jury is being selected for this trial. If you’ve ever served jury duty, you’ll know that it’s a long, mundane process that takes up normal, every day citizens time as well as taxpayers money in court costs. What’s worse is that Britney faces up to 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine!
Y’all remember that the charges stem from Britney’s alleged Hit and Run last year and after all the legal wrangling since then, the trial can now get underway .
Maybe it’s just because I’m the only one working today as everyone is off playing paintball but this really ticks me off. And you should be ticked off too! This is why America is the way it is. We let those being wasteful with our tax dollars continue to waste without calling them on it.
As a matter of fact, check out this idea I had. If I was in charge, wouldn’t it be great if we could pass a law that says no one can run for House, Senate or President of the United States unless they’ve served in the Armed Forces? And not the National Guard either, but one of the four branches of the military. Let’s see how quickly we’d send our boys off to foreign lands to fight corporate battles.

I agree with you Ronnie. I think military experience should be a prerequisite for any high ranking official/Congress. I also agree that this case does waste taxpayers money.
However, you walk into a store, take a .. “lighter” or any other item without paying - that, in our great country, is deemed as petty theft/stealing. You just can’t do it. It’s against the law. They teach you about stealing in Ed., they also teach you this ridiculous mundane rule, it goes something like this: You hit a car .. and no one is around. You can not leave the scene or accident site without leaving your name/number. OR, you can wait their for the vehicle owner. Otherwise, that, in all states of this great country, is a hit-and-run. You also can not lie under oath or beat anyone down, AND you have to pay your taxes. If Lil’ Kim, Foxy, and Wesley had to pay for their actions, why shouldn’t she?
Serving in the Armed Forces shouldn’t be the only law passed. McCain is an idiot. I’m angry too. I bet 20 people $50 he’d win, and watching this fool ‘debate’ now … it’s a Wrap! I don’t know what his plan is, and neither does he!

I couldn’t even watch the debate tonight. The last one made me scared for my daughter’s future.
But yes, wrong is wrong no matter what kind of bow you put on it, but the license thing is just too much for me. I would feel better if they were trying to throw the book at her for the hit and run rather than the license. One is definitely more serious than the other.

Yes the hit and run part was way more serious and they dismissed that and now are going after her about her license. Yes she lives in CA but from what I’m told she does have a house in LA. I do understand the part about after a certain amount of days she must get a CA license but give me a break. Getting a jury on this is just wasting money. Give her the same fine as anyone else and stop trying to make an example of her.
Wasteful spending on lots of things ticks me off. Bailing out Wall Street is another one. Tell the high paid idiots on Wall Street that made all the junk loans to go find another job or to at least take a pay cut since they caused the junk. Give the working people the money they spent on the bail out. They should not have been giving out loans to people that could not pay to begin with. Most of the people did not realize what the adjustable rate mortgage would do.
No one running for president is the right one. I dont like either one of them. I’m not a Hillary supporter either so it is not that. I’m just not sure we have the right people for us to vote on.

Gi, I understand your frustration, but at least please exercise your right to vote. No politician ever does exactly what he/she claims they will do - but at least vote for Obama. ha ha

Gigi—I agree. I don’t like either choice. I’m still voting though.
Back to topic, this trial is so ridiculous. If this isn’t more about politics then I don’t know what is. Give her a reasonable fine and quit wasting taxpayer money. I agree with GiGi, quit trying to make an example out of her.

Ronnie, too bad you didn’t watch the debate. I don’t know if McCain was tired, or he tends to lisp now and then. He made me confused about Palin. Was she a ______ or a breath of fresh air?
I voted for Obama but I felt bad for McCain in that moment.

I think California was the first place Britney moved to at an age when she could drive.
It is a silly trial. Britney does not have a criminal background.
