Jackson Family Reunion Tour Coming?

Jermaine Jackson seems to think so. He told the Australian Associated Press that the original Jackson 5 will be getting together again in 2009—and sister Janet will be opening for them.

“This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family to get back together. It is just the timing, so what we’ve been doing is working on the music and the logistics. It’s going to be more like a family affair. Janet’s going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5…Michael, Randy and the whole family…We’re in the studio and we plan on being out there next year.”

Given all the drama that’s gone down with this family over the years, I’ll believe it when I see it.

UPDATE: Looks like I’m not going to see it. Not surprisingly, Michael issued a statement late today saying he will not be part of this tour. 

“My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them.” 

Let’s see how Jermaine tries to spin this.
