Katie Leaving CBS?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Katie Couric could be out of a job by next year. Word is the network is very disappointed about the low ratings Katie’s CBS Evening News is receiving, which is currently in third place during that time slot. Katie currently has a $15 million a year contract which expires in 2011. The Journal wrote that they may shorten that and relieve her next year. The former Today Show host has been criticized by some for her soft-news approach. I don’t know, I think folks are still not used to a woman presiding over this time slot. Eonline.com is reporting that CBS denies the rumor, though, and states that they do not plan to make any changes to their broadcast, including Katie’s post. Then again, they have to say that to save face and next thing we know, Katie’s hosting The View.
