Pete Talks About Dark Days

See, I’ve always had a soft spot for Pete Wentz. Don’t ask me why - I’m not even a fan of his band, Fall Out Boy. He just seems like a nice dude. Anyway, Us Magazine is reporting that Pete once tried to take his own life. He told MTV’s college channel MTVU that he was once so “lost and out of control” that he took a bunch of prescribed anxiety medication (Ativan) at a Best Buy parking lot. Thank goodness he seeked help. He called his manager, who then called his mother, who finally took him to the hospital. He’s speaking out because he wants other young folks thinking of suicide to know they’re not alone. Pete is also promoting Jed Foundation’s Half Of Us, a program that aims to cut suicide rates among teens. I’m sure there are so many more artists out there who have gone through the same thing. It’s nice to see Pete speaking out about his experience and hopefully touching someone’s life.
