Chace Gets “Footloose” – Will Miley Join Him?

The producers of the “Footloose” remake were left star-less after Zac Edron passed on the project. But another teen heartthrob is set to don those dancing shoes—all he needs now is a partner!
Paramount has confirmed that “Gossip Girl” actor Chace Crawford has been signed to play male lead Ren McCormack, but no actress has been signed to play his GF Ariel Moore. Already mentioned as possible choices are Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Julianne Hough, all of whom have auditioned for the role.
But a new femme has been added to the pool—teen superstar Miley Cyrus. A source told E!’s Marc Malkin, “They’ve expressed interest in Miley for the part.” Cyrus has not auditioned, but does she need to? With platinum albums, two films and a TV series under her belt, she obviously has the experience for the role. Her loyal fan base couldn’t hurt, either.
It’s too soon to tell whether Miley will get to be Chace’s leading lady, but it would be nice to see the part of a high schooler played by a real teenager instead of a 30-year-old.

Hayden Wants To Dance

While it’s not yet official that “Gossip Girl” actor Chace Crawford will step into Kevin Bacon’s dancing shoes for the remake of “Footloose,” a certain TV actress already wants to be his partner.
E! News reports “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere has auditioned for the part of Ariel, and sources say she wowed the filmmakers with her singing. ”They were really impressed. No one realized what a good singer she is.”
The next step will likely be a dance audition with Crawford, but this casting is no done deal. “Dancing with the Stars” beauty/country songbird Julianne Hough is also interested, and she can dance rings around practically anyone else.

Linds No Lez?

Despite her ongoing affair with Samantha Ronson, Lindsay Lohan has been proclaiming to friends that she’s not really a lesbian because she still loves guys. A source close to te actress told the NY Daily News:
“She keeps saying if anything went wrong with Sam she would date a guy next. She even flirts with guys when they go out.”
Combined with last week’s rumors of Linds exchanging numbers with “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford and sending him flirty tex messages, it looks like she may be sending a message to Ronson that she shouldn’t be mailing the invitations to that gay wedding just yet.

We’ve been hearing rumors that all is not well between lovers Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. Could there be a third party to blame? A male third party? Reports say that Linds met “Gossip Girl” hottie Chace Crawford at a recent party in NYC. The two took each others’ numbers and now Chace is getting phone calls and sexy texts from the “Mean Girls” star. But is Linds getting serious—or just trying to make Sam jealous?
