The guys of Wisteria Lane have returned for another season.  Kyle MacLachlan and onscreen wife Marcia Cross took shade under an umbrella as they strolled across the set of “Desperate Housewives” as the show filmed on location in Hollywood. CA. Also back in action is Ricardo Chavira as Gabby’s long-suffering hubby Carlos. This should be an especially interesting season, with Mike’s mystery wedding, Gabby back to her diva ways and the addition of “Sopranos” star Drea de Matteo. 

It was like the first day of school on the set of “Desperate Housewives,” as old cast members greeted each other and welcomed newcomers. Present and accounted for on location in Hollywood were Eva Longoria Parker, Felicity Huffman, Doug Savant and Drea de Matteo.

Actress Marcia Cross shielded her fair skin from the sun while filming “Desperate Housewives” on location in Hollywood. Can we expect her “Bree” to be as primly perfect as usual this season? It looks that way so far!

So who’s the bride? Isn’t bigamy illegal? “Desperate Housewives” seems to be keeping us guessing!

In the show’s last season finale, we found out Mike Delfino would tie the knot with some lucky lady. What we didn’t learn was whether his bride would be ex-wife Susan, played by Teri Hatcher, or Dana Delany’s Katherine. 

On the show’s Hollywood set, both actresses wore white, but since this is “Desperate Housewives,” they could be shooting a real wedding, a dream sequence, or a flashback from the past. I just hope they solve this riddle before November sweeps.

A taste of Italian spice is coming to Wisteria Lane this fall, as a new family moves in.

Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly broke the news this afternoon that Emmy-winning “Sopranos” actress Drea de Matteo will join the cast of “Desperate Housewives” this fall as the matriarch of an Italian family that also includes “her landscape designer husband and their tightly wound son.”

With Edie Britt gone, the series could definitely use a new vamp on the block, and Drea certainly fills the bill. While the actress has never been a “housewife” in real life, she became engaged to longtime BF Shooter Jennings earlier this month, when he proposed to her onstage during a show in Utica, NY. The couple have an 18-month-old daughter named Alabama Gypsyrose.

I’m a huge fan of “Housewives,” and Drea is one of my favorite actresses, so I’m totally looking forward to the new season.  Especially after the vast wasteland this summer’s TV is turning out to be.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that ABC will be bringing back a dozen of their most popular series for the 2009-10 season. Those renewed include scripted series “Lost,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Ugly Betty” and “Private Practice.” Reality shows returning are ”Dancing with the Stars,” “The Bachelor,” Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Wife Swap,” “Supernanny” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

None of the shows in ABC’s freshman class have been picked up, and it’s not likely that any will be on the final fall schedule the network will announce at next month’s upfronts.

The ladies of Wisteria Lane gave Edie Britt a big sendoff Sunday night—but not big enough to draw ratings for “Desperate Housewives.”

According to the AP, 13.9 million people watched the episode, which was enough to make the show number seven for the week, but short of the 15.2 million “Housewives” has been averaging this season.

Is interest in the show waning? Maybe, but it’s possible several weeks of reruns have caused viewers to look elsewhere. May sweeps are coming and those are the ratings that really count.

Eva Longoria Parker looked glum but fab on the set of  ”Desperate Housewives.” The show should be shooting its final episode of the season about now. I’m hoping the glamorous. conniving Gabby we fell in love with will be back next fall!

Just because Edie Britt has been killed off “Desperate Housewives,” that doesn’t mean Nicolette Sheridan is going away quietly.

In an interview with TV Guide, the actress blames the show’s producers, especially Marc Cherry, for her character’s demise. “Somebody up there really wanted her dead.

“I think that whoever Edie represented in Marc’s life was somebody he didn’t like. And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.”

Meow!  Cherry blames the network’s demands for budget cuts, claiming someone had to go. He had decisions to make, and since Edie was never one of the four principal “Housewives,” she was expendable. He added. “What characters do I need to go forward? Edie’s already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could.”

Only on a soap does a character get offed because there are no more cast members left for her to have sex with. Hey, what about Lynette’s twins? We know one of then digs cougars. Well, it’s too late now.

Glam Gabby’s back—and we’re glad! After several months of her character being a plump, harried hausfrau, Eva Longoria Parker is again playing the slim, sexy Gabrielle Solis on “Desperate Housewives,” filming on location in Burbank, CA.

“Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross took her adorable two-year-old twins Eden and Savannah to the park in Santa Monica, CA, and it looks like a good time was had by all. Mommy Marcia certainly has her hands full with these two!

Actors usually hate to see the end of their part in a series, since it also means the end of their paychecks. Some have gotten mad enough to take it out on castmates and producers. The National Enquirer claims that Nicollette Sheridan departed “Desperate Housewives” and took quite a few souvenirs with her!

An insider told the Enquirer, “Nicollette removed everything but the kitchen sink! I think she was angry she wasn’t given a farewell party, so she decided to take her own parting gifts.” The tab claims those “gifts” included a flat-screen TV, mattress, silk sheets, pillows, dishes, pots, crystal chandeliers and light fixtures. This haul could be worth as much as $30 grand since that’s what the network gave each “Housewives” star to decorate her trailer.

An ABC spokesperson denies the charges but the insider claims, “The producers are furious. They will demand she return the items – or they’re going to charge her for everything!”

Sounds like it would have been cheaper and less trouble to buy her a cake. Hey, at least she leased a truck to haul it all away and didn’t swipe the trailer, too.

“Her final episode is really beautiful, and it involves a lot of flashbacks. We did a flashback scene from five years ago.”

Sounds like those rumors about Edie taking a dirt nap are true. Well, it’s nice to know they’re giving evil Edie a big sendoff, but for me, the show won’t be the same without her. Unless they recruit another trampy vamp to fill Edie’s Wonderbra, things could get a bit dull in Fairview.

The cast of “Desperate Housewives” shot on location in Pasadena, CA, Wednesday. Eva Longoria looks stunning—the glam Gabi we love is back! I’m glad because frumpy Gabi was getting to be a bore. Let’s hope she’s back to her old conniving ways!

TVGuide.com is reporting that Marc Cherry, series creator for “Desperate Housewives.” surprised his cast by announcing that he wanted to stretch the run of the show to nine seasons. The occasion was the cake-cutting ceremony celebrating “Wives”‘ 100th episode. There are still a few details to iron out before this becomes a reality—like getting a formal pick-up from ABC and locking in whichever cast members he wants to keep around.  But there are certainly good reasons why this should happen.  ”Desperate Housewives” is one of the net’s biggest hits and one of the dwindling number of scripted shows still drawing viewers. And nine seasons instead of seven would make for a much more lucrative syndication package, so I’d bet Cherry gets just what he wants this holiday.

These pictures of Marcia Cross and her twin toddlers, Eden and Savannah, are so cute, they look like those standard photos included when you buy picture frames. Yes, that adorable. Marcia and the kids were spotted yesterday having a grand old time at Brentwood Park. Her kids are so cute, I just want to squeeze them! It was just announced a few days ago that Desperate Housewives will be ending its run after three more seasons. Series creator Marc Cherry recently told the press at a Television Critics Association event that the show is “going to get out while people still like us.” Probably a good idea. Good times – our lovely video dude got Eva Longoria on the set of Desperate Housewives. I posted the pics that accompany this video, but it’s totally different when you see movement. Yes, movement. Anyway, in this particular scene, Gabrielle is grocery shopping, and as sexy as grocery shopping can be. Eva does a really good job of playing Gabby – witchy scenes and all. I wonder what type of movie role will finally graduate her into the big screen. Obviously the ghost-romantic comedy thing doesn’t work, so maybe she should try action. But enough of my rambling and go check out the video.

And Kyle McLachlan really knows how to go from one group of gorgeous ladies to another – he was Trey on Sex And The City and now he’s Bree’s hubby on DH.
