Eva Longoria Parker devotes many hours of her time to charitable causes, and the ones which aid children are closest to her heart. Next week, The “Desperate Housewives” star will be co-hosting Padres Contra el Cancer’s ninth annual El Sueño de Esperanza fundraiser with old pal George Lopez, and among those being honored is her hair stylist Ken Paves.

Eva told E!’s Marc Malkin why Paves is so deserving. “Kenny’s done a lot regarding children with cancer. He’s made wigs, and donated wigs, makeovers and his time. He’s really done a lot and he’s done it for free. People just see him as this celebrity hairstylist who gets to work with beautiful women. He’s so much more than that.” Kudos to Eva and Ken for using their fame to help kids in need!

It was like the first day of school on the set of “Desperate Housewives,” as old cast members greeted each other and welcomed newcomers. Present and accounted for on location in Hollywood were Eva Longoria Parker, Felicity Huffman, Doug Savant and Drea de Matteo.

It’s mid-summer and network TV is pretty boring, but at least we have the new fall season to look forward to. “Desperate Housewives” is now filming new episodes, and Eva Longoria Parker was spotted talking on her cell phone on location in Hollywood. It looks like the glam Gabby we love will be back with a vengeance!

Eva Longoria Parker looked very happy to be picked up by her husband, NBA All Star Tony Parker, the set of “Desperate Housewives” at the show’s Hollywood, CA, location. Maybe she’s so cheerful because she’s about to begin a two-month vacation with her man!

Eva Longoria Parker looked glum but fab on the set of  ”Desperate Housewives.” The show should be shooting its final episode of the season about now. I’m hoping the glamorous. conniving Gabby we fell in love with will be back next fall!

Glam Gabby’s back—and we’re glad! After several months of her character being a plump, harried hausfrau, Eva Longoria Parker is again playing the slim, sexy Gabrielle Solis on “Desperate Housewives,” filming on location in Burbank, CA.

“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria Parker launched a pap frenzy when she left a Beverly Hills medical building today. Do her newly long locks mean that glam Gabi will be back and drab Gabi is out? We hope so—Eva is so good when she’s bad!

Eva Longoria Parker and Lucy Liu are among the celebs who have vowed to support President-elect Obama by making changes in their lives. Reuters reports that Longoria Parker has sworn off plastic water bottles while Liu promises to ride the subway when she visits New York.

In answer to Obama’s call for community service, over 50 Hollywood celebrities have pledged to take positive action in a video from Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. The video will premiere on MySpace by Monday, the day before Obama’s inauguration.

Kutcher told Reuters, ”There’s an assumption that this one man is going to take on his new job full-time and somehow wave a magic wand of change, and I don’t believe that to be true. I think that we have to be the leaders, and that’s not celebrities—I think that we as citizens have to be leaders of the movement that we want to create.”

This is a nice thought but I wonder how many of the rich and famous are willing to make real sacrifices for the environment—like giving up Lear jets to fly commercial. Or trading in their luxury SUVs for hybrids. That’s the kind of change that would really set an example.

Eva Longoria Parker spilled her New Year’s resolutions to E!—and none of them involved getting pregnant. She stated that both she and husband Tony Parker are “trying to be really healthy” and that she plans to give up meat. That won’t be easy considering the time she spends at her Hollywood restaurant Beso. 

Eva revealed that the highlight of 2008 for her was “My one-year anniversary vacation! It was on a boat in the South of France and Italy, so that was really great.” At least someone had something nice to remember about last year.

If you’re in L.A. and still haven’t picked a place to party tonight, Eva Longoria Parker is hosting a bash at her Hollywood Blvd. restaurant, Beso. Expected guests include stars from “Desperate Housewives” and Eva’s better half, Tony Parker. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Savi and Jose Cortes of the Gipsy Kings. Plus watching Eva climb up on a chair to kiss Tony at midnight.

She says she loves the other gals on “Desperate Housewives.” “The women on the show are dear friends of mine. It’s been such a gift for me to be in their presence and learn not only from their acting abilities but from their life experiences.”

She and her hubby take turns doting on each other. “But there are times when Tony takes care of me—in an emotional sense, like, OK, let me take the reins on this one. But I love to take care of him. I’m really a very fifties housewife. Yes, I love having dinner ready and making sure his clothes are ironed and that he’s packed and ready when he goes on road trips.

She admires the new First Lady. “Michelle is going to be an amazing First Lady: She’s intelligent, capable and motivated. She just embodies everything that an American woman should represent.”

The major shocker is what we can expect from Gabrielle Solis when “Housewives” comes back in January. Poor Gaby has gone from glam model to frumpy mommy this season but Eva reports, “When this article comes out, Gabrielle will be glam again.”

That’s something to look forward to for the new year!

Eva Longoria Parker has been rumored to be pregnant for so many months, she’d be farther along than Ashlee Simpson by now if they were true. Last night at the BlackBerry Bold party at Villa in West Hollywood, Eva scotched that talk by not only looking as skinny as ever but also smoking cigarettes all evening. Maybe this season’s plot line on “Desperate Housewives” has turned her off the idea of motherhood—at least for now.

So I’m not fully on board the name change yet. It’s going to take a while to get used to the additional sur-name. Am I supposed to hyphenate it, too? I’ll have to ask around but I don’t think it’ll matter much to PETA once they get Eva in their sights. Remember when PETA created the monnikers ‘The Trollsen Twins’ for Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen? I can imagine what they’ll do to Eva’s name already. Probably Eva Fangoria or something like that. I doubt even PETA will use her new last name!
