Leighton Goes Country

It looks like “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester is adding “country singer” to her resume. Yesterday, the actress Twittered, “On the last leg of recording music for ‘Love Don’t Let Me Down.’ I love country music.” Leighton appears with Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw in the film which is set in Nashville. She’s dabbled in other genres so it will be interesting to see what the actress can do with country music. I suspect Taylor Swift has nothing to worry about.

How Shauna Chased Chace

While Shauna Sand has repeatedly denied having an affair with her ex-husband Lorenzo Lamas’ son A.J., she has ‘fessed up to a steamy “secret relationship” with another younger man—“Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford! The former Playmate revealed to the Star that she met the then-18-year-old at a college party in Malibu, and sparks flew. “He was so incredibly beautiful — I immediately fell in love with him!”
The couple dated for a year, despite the 14-year difference in their ages. A friend of the actor claims Chace had a lot to learn—and Shauna was quite a teacher. Chace told me, “Shauna was the first girl I ever had sex with! She blew my mind, and I’ll never forget it!” He won’t be able to if she managed to make a sex tape of one of their encounters.

Kelly Dishes Advice

Had Kelly Rutherford’s dirty divorce soured her on men? According to Page Six, the “Gossip Girl” mom, who’s trying to get shed of Daniel Giersch after a short marriage and two kids, offered some rather bitter advice at a party for Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Wii. When a young female guest told a publicist that she wanted her boyfriend to gift her with a Wii, Kelly interjected, “Buy it yourself! It’s cheaper than a divorce.” Ouch! Maybe Kelly should look for a guy who has his own money next time around.

Group Targets “Gossip Girl”

Beware, fans of “Gossip Girl!” Censors want to stop you from seeing your show! The Parents Television Council, which describes itself as a “nonpartisan education group advocating responsible entertainment,” has asked CW affiliate stations to pre-empt this week’s episode, entitled “3SOME.”
The Huffington Post quotes PTC president Tim Winter as calling the show’s teen hook-up “reckless and irresponsible.” In a letter to the affiliates, Winter asked, “Will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?” A spokesperson for the CW countered that the target audience for “Gossip Girl” is 18- to 34-year-old women, with a median viewer age of 27 years old.
While virtue vigilantes have succeeded in keeping shows off the air in the past, it seems like a waste of time today. What teen couldn’t find the show online within an hour after it airs?

Leighton Denies Sex Tape

“Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester is on the cover of the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and the first thing she addresses in the interview is the rumored tape of her having sex at 18.
The actress insists, “[The tape] is not real, so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did. I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news. People think it’s real because somebody says it is.”
Too bad she didn’t make such an emphatic statement at the time the tape surfaced. But she didn’t have a new season of “Gossip Girl” to promote then, did she?
