Miley Cyrus has been Disney’s most bankable superstar since the debut of “Hannah Montana,” but today she received a dubious “honor.” The teen phenom was voted worst celebrity influence of 2009 by AOL’s tween website JSYK.com (Just So You Know). Coming in behind Miley were pop princess Britney Spears and rude rapper Kanye West.

Yeah, Miley’s been ragged on for dressing too sexy and dating an older male model, but she hasn’t been caught drinking at Hollywood hotspots or sneaking out of motels in the early morning. So why the diss? JSYK.com editor Stephanie Cohen, theorized to Reuters, “I think Miley is in an interesting space where she is trying to graduate from being ‘Hannah Montana’ and a Disney channel celebrity and coming into her own and having a career beyond Disney. I think her fans still want her to be the sweet Hannah Montana and she is trying to age up…Parents are definitely resisting it.”

Those fans and parents are just going to have to face the fact that Miley’s growing up. She’ll be 17 next month—they can’t expect her to be a little girl forever!

Miley Cyrus has just started her Wonder World tour, but is already having problems.

The tween queen has been hit was a case of strep throat that forced her to take a 15 minute break from her show in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night. So far, Miley has not cancelled any shows and is scheduled to play in Omaha tonight. The very busy “Hannah Montana” star spent all summer filming the movie “The Last Song,” has a new EP out and has done a teen-trendy clothing line for Walmart. Now she’s on tour, and still has to film the final season of “Hannah Montana.”

The hard-working 16-year-old told People, “I’m a little tired I will admit but I’m just taking it easy when I can and take care of myself.” Isn’t it time Miley took a break?

As teen sensation Miley Cyrus outgrows her role as “Hannah Montana,” Disney keeps looking for ways to get more mileage out of their biggest moneymaker.

Variety reports the Mouse House has purchased screen rights to Aprilynne Pike’s bestselling young adult novel “Wings,” and will do a screen adaption starring Miley Cyrus. The Disney starlet will play a sheltered teen who discovers she’s a fairy when a pair of wings begin sprouting from her back.

Given the current mania for vampires, ghouls and other supernatural creatures, this film could play well with the teen movie audience—and help launch Miley into a career beyond “Hannah Montana.”

Parents of tweens, don’t breathe a sigh of relief because your little girls have outgrown their “Hannah Montana” backpacks. The nation’s largest retail chain has more goodies coming to tempt them into spending their allowances.

According to Reuters, Wal-Mart has announced the launch of a fashion line with “Hannah” star Miley Cyrus, set to debut just in time for back-to-school shopping. The Disney princess will team with Max Azria of BCBGMAXAZRIA to design a line of graphic tees, tops, pants, shoes and accessories, all retailing for less than $20 each.

This sounds like a good deal for the budget-conscious teen. Miley’s pal Taylor Swift already has a line of sundresses available only at Wal-Mart. It certainly makes more sense than those overpriced “designer” lines some young actresses have done.

The producers of the “Footloose” remake were left star-less after Zac Edron passed on the project. But another teen heartthrob is set to don those dancing shoes—all he needs now is a partner!

Paramount has confirmed that “Gossip Girl” actor Chace Crawford has been signed to play male lead Ren McCormack, but no actress has been signed to play his GF Ariel Moore. Already mentioned as possible choices are Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Julianne Hough, all of whom have auditioned for the role.

But a new femme has been added to the pool—teen superstar Miley Cyrus. A source told E!’s Marc Malkin, “They’ve expressed interest in Miley for the part.” Cyrus has not auditioned, but does she need to? With platinum albums, two films and a TV series under her belt, she obviously has the experience for the role. Her loyal fan base couldn’t hurt, either.

It’s too soon to tell whether Miley will get to be Chace’s leading lady, but it would be nice to see the part of a high schooler played by a real teenager instead of a 30-year-old.

It can’t be easy to live your teen years in the public eye, but Miley Cyrus vows to stick to her principles.

The Disney darling told the UK Daily Mail. “I want to keep my virginity until I marry. I was brought up in a Christian family.” When asked about the controversial Vanity Fair photos, she answered, “It’s hard growing up in the spotlight and I’m changing. I can’t be the 12-year-old who just moved to LA for ever. I’m having a great time doing what I do, but I’m also going to stumble and fall. Having my parents close helps.”

The “Hannah Montana” star named a child star role model. “People mention child performers who have gone off the rails, but there are also stable people like Jodie Foster. She was a child star and look where she is now. She called to give me advice which was great.”

Take that sdvice, Miley, and you won’t go wrong.

Miley Cyrus wants Justin Gaston to know he’s still her number one man.

After reports that Miley was dropping the hunky model to get back with former BF Nick Jonas, the “Hannah Montana” star refuted the talk this weekend. According to People, Miley called it a “stupidddd rumor,” and added “It makes me sad to think that people out there aren’t friends with THEIR ex bf, because let me tell u it IS possible.”

Miley had nice words for both of the men in her life, , saying. “Justin and Nick are two very amazing people and they both mean so much to me. I love both of them so much, and they are both very dear to my heart. Justin is an amazing person! He can always make me laugh and has a heart of gold. 

“Nick is so lovely. He reaches out to so many people with his music, not only with his talent but with his heart. Our love for music is something that keeps our friendship together and I KNOW NO MATTER [what] he will be my friend forever.”

Stay tuned for the next episode of this teen soap opera, which could get a lot more interesting than any plot on “Hannah Montana.”

When you’re rich, famous and sixteen, you can have your choice of hot guys. We should all have such problems!

On her TV show “Hannah Montana,” Miley Cyrus has the best of both worlds, but in real life she may have to make a choice. Gatecrasher is claiming the Disney tween queen wants to rekindle the romance with her old flame Nick Jonas. A source dished, “Miley and Nick want to get back together. Because they’re working together [on a new video], they’ve been put in close proximity to each other. They’re now spending more and more time together, and they’re constantly on the phone.”

But where does this leave hunky hottie Justin Gaston, the “older man” who’s been dating Miley for the last few months? The source added. “She doesn’t know how to tell Justin that they’re over, but Nick is being very firm with her. He’s a good, stand-up kind of guy, and is making Miley tell Justin very, very soon. He’s being tough about it.”

Hey, nobody ever said young love was easy. If Miley and Nick do become a pair again, they’ll certainly be the teen world’s number one power couple!

“Hannah Montana” rules! First the film topped the box office for Easter weekend, now the soundtrack album has climbed to number one.

Billboard reports the “Hannah Montana: The Movie” soundtrack to the film starring Miley Cyrus moved 133,000 copies to beat out Day26 and Rascal Flatts for the top spot on their album chart.

Does this mean there will be a sequel for the Disney franchise? That certainly wouldn’t be a surprise, given how long the Mouse House has managed to drag out the “High School Musical” brand. But they better work quickly—Miley’s not getting any younger.

Miley Cyrus showed those nasty old critics why she’s the tween queen as her “Hannah Montana: The Movie” broke box office records this Easter weekend.

The film raked in a record $34 million to give Disney the top grossing Easter weekend ever for a G-rated flick. This total topped last year’s “Hannah” 3-D concert film—and this year’s from the Jonas Brothers.

Congrats Miley—you still rule the Mouse House!

Grownups might want to steer clear of the multiplex this weekend—Hannahmania has landed.

“Hannah Montana: The Movie” opened today, and star Miley Cyrus, along with dad Billy Ray, paid a surprise visit to the Megaplex 20 at the District in South Jordan, Utah. The Salt Lake Tribune reports a local DJ asked the crowd, “What would you do if Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus were here right now?” The duo then entered the theater to a chorus of tween screams.

Why Utah? Miley explained, “We wanted to go somewhere that people didn’t expect.” Well, Utah is pretty unexpected, when you’re opening a Hollywood film. Even a G-rated one.

Nashville native Miley Cyrus showed her down-home side in the new “Hannah Montana” film—and in her interview on the Rachael Ray show.

RadarOnline revealed how Cyrus kidnapped a non-human cast member from the movie. “Chickens do not want to be actors, I just know that, so I took the chicken and its name is Lucille and I have it in Nashville.” 

The Disney star also gave her tip for saving money. “I just learned how to color my own hair…Dude if it’s going to be between $8 and $800 at the Right Aid which is right by my house that I can bike to it’s a good idea.”

It’s only a good idea if you do it right, so be careful. Nothing is worse than a hair-coloring disaster!

The “Hannah Montana” movie coming out next month is all about Hannah/Miley going back to Tennessee and getting back in touch with the land, the simple life, all that stuff. Hey, for a Disney movie, that’s an award-winning plot. But as E! reports, at today’s press conference for the film Miley Cyrus admitted, “I wish I had more time” to spend in her home state.

Miley was born and raised outside Nashville, but has spent the last several years in L.A. A large part of the “Hannah” movie was filmed on location in Tennessee, and she stated, “That was the longest I had been back since I left. I am really hoping to move back there at some point. Filming really made me miss home.”

But she’s not ready to hang up Hannah’s wig and head home yet. There’s still more of the TV series coming but a sequel to the movie sounds iffy.

“We were really lucky to have enough material to make one movie. To do another one takes away a lot of the reality. Normal high schoolers see Hannah’s blond wig and say, ‘That’s not reality.’

“It was very clever the way, in the movie, we reveal Hannah Montana, but we didn’t make [the plot] in a way that makes another season unrealistic. We’re all doing a season three, and we all wish to do a season four. So I don’t know if I would do another film, but we would love to do another season.”

Oh, you will. Disney will milk this cash cow for all they can get. They need to move those “Hannah” lunch boxes and back packs before the kids outgrow the show—and Miley outgrows the part.

“Hannah Montana: The Movie” comes to theaters next month and the posters for the film intimate that this might be the end for Miley Stewart’s blonde alter-ego. Will she be forced to choose between her two worlds? Miley Cyrus gave her thoughts to Billboard.

“This movie was never meant to be the end of Hannah Montana. The thing is, a lot of people put where the show’s future lays in my hands — and it’s not up to me. It’s up to Disney and whether they want more episodes, and we hope that they do.”

But she’s realistic about the character’s likely lack of longevity. “Breakout,” Cyrus’ first album out of “Hannah” character, sold 1.7 million copies last year so her transition into a full-time musical career certainly seems possible.

“It’s just an honor for people to be able to relate to me and my music — and not so much the character anymore. I can’t be Hannah Montana forever. I have to have something after this. I can’t do this when I’m 30.”

I doubt she’ll want to do it past 18. Miley Cyrus will outgrow “Hannah” but what she’ll grow into is up to her.

Beware—there could be danger lurking in your kid’s lunch box! The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Peanut Corporation of America have issued a safety recall of Disney Hannah Montana Peanut Chocolate Granola Bars because of the danger of salmonella contamination. This is part of that nasty peanut scare that’s been going on lately.

I know Disney has to make all the cash they can off the “Hannah” franchise before both Miley Cyrus and the show’s fans outgrow it, but isn’t this branding getting a bit silly? What’s next—”Hannah Montana” tampons for tweens getting their first period?

Besides, the real Hannah would prefer Little Debbie Snack Cakes because that’s what they fed us all as kids growing up down south.

Just as we think we can’t get more broke and in debt, those money-grubbing folks at Disney release their list of “Most Wanted” toys—all that junk that will cause our kids to hate us forever if we don’t max out our credit cards to buy the stuff for them. Leading the list for ‘tweens are the “Hannah Montana Holiday Doll,” (pictured above) which sings “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” for only $34.99. Also aimed at that demo are the “High School Musical 3: Senior Year Singing Dolls” of Gabriella, Troy and Sharpay which play songs from the film and let the kids sing along for $26.99 each. Of course, a real HSM fan won’t settle for less than all three. For the kid who really has you under his/her thumb, there are the “Disney Mix Line of Digital Media Players” available in “fun styles from Disney properties including Jonas Brothers, High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Hannah Montana.” These iPods for kiddies are $69.99 and $99.99. Don’t think you’ll get off is your kids have outgrown Hannah and her little friends. For older kids, there’s the “Ultimate WALL•E” robot for $249.99. Start making your plans to rob that bank now.

All work and no play makes a Disney teen queen a very dull girl, so Miley Cyrus made time for some fun yesterday in Santa Monica. Still filming Hannah Montana: The Movie at the Santa Monica Pier, Miley took advantage of the location and rode the roller coaster with her little sis, Noah. It’s nice to see Miley enjoying herself like any normal teenager, especially with the hectic work schedule she keeps. And there is something to be said for Miley’s always happy attitude. She’s always smiling and throwing peace signs at paps and seems to be enjoying her celebrity, instead of being stuck-up about it. Let’s hope she keeps her sunshiny outlook at least until her early 20s. By then she can party all she wants and take as many pictures of herself in the mirror.

Miley must have been watching some old ’80s videos on VH-1 Classic and discovered the Bangles, because this explains her dance moves. In fact, even that outfit she’s wearing is straight out of the ’80s, too. Hmm, maybe Miley should have Hannah Montana do covers of ’80s rock/pop chicks like Cyndi Lauper and the Go-Gos. The Hannah Montana crew has moved on from the beaches of Malibu to the golden streets of Beverly Hills. Our photogs caught up with Miley Cyrus and company filming on Rodeo Drive yesterday. Vanessa Williams was also shooting some scenes, so I guess she’s in the upcoming Hannah Montana video/film. Good times. Miley recently talked to People Magazine about wanting to make a cleaner and younger version of Sex and the City. Um, don’t they already have Gossip Girls? Miley should not go anywhere near a project with the word ’sex’ in it until she’s 18. That’s what I say. Just let Hannah Montana go to college first before you start trying to emulate Samantha or Carrie, will ya, Miley? Por favor?
